We had, we had. Don't you remember? (Yes, the sound was another story, but they look stunning)

Just to clarify, I meant IEMs all plastic/acrylic and not as ergonomic as those made today. The most surprising part is that now we have great ergonomics and metal enclosure materials even in budget IEMs :)

The MT3 reminds me of the speed of some planar IEMs such as the Kirin and the Dioko. The treble is a bit hot at times but not really piercing. Resolution is surprisingly higher than the ST5 and also the Dioko but the Dioko has better treble while the MT3 has better bass. It's a very interesting set that requires some (extensive) burn-in/tip rolling/cable rolling.

So TRN now has TA1 Max, ST5 and MT3 in the budget sector. Nothing back yet on the new CCA HM20. KZ has the AS16 Pro and the the ZS10 Pro X. Not even counting planar releases. The interesting question to me, is how the ST5 with older BAs and a Be coated dynamic, faces off against the ZS10 Pro X with updated BAs and an unspecified DD (although KZ has really got their act together with good single DDs recently)?

Guaranteed to be differences in opinion over which are better. Every new release rattles the cage and we have to look again to see what floats to the top!

Well the real question is if those newer BAs are really better than their originals without the "s" and we will never know the answer.

Personally I just prefer metal shells for the more focused sound. I took a listen to the TRN MT1 and the original ZS10 Pro and I put them back in my drawer within seconds. What really float to the top depends quite a lot on marketing I guess as long as the products are good enough but not necessarily the best in the bunch. And that's the main reason I choose IEMs based on their shell material now (either 3D printed ones with premium resin like the Variations or metal).

Excellent stuff, thanks! And the idea of interchangeable plugs is a spot on! Is the connection firm btw.?
Yes, no trouble whatsoever. Very secure connection.

Thanks! If I may ask, is there any locking mechanism there? Or is this a push-fit connection?
It is a push fit, but is very solid. A dot on the cable aligns with an arrow on the plug.

Is the interchangeable plug on the included cable with ST5 the same one as on the TRN T2 Pro cable?
I'm sorry, I do not have the T2 Pro cable.

TRN MT3 Review

Hello folks, here is my review of the TRN MT3. Not a bad ultra-budget iem. It certainly has it's flaws, but for the price, build quality, design, as well as authoritative yet non-intrusive low-end, clean enough midrange and emphasized treble, I'd say that TRN did pretty well with this one. Check out my full review at the website below and take care everyone.

Looks great. I'll buy it for the look alone. Looks it shaped like Tripowin Lea?
