How long it took for you to get used to them? How did you achieved that, did you were comparing them back and forth constantly with other headphones? We all want to know, we are eager of new experiences with them, as all we know is what we have said, not much BTW, but there should be, and must be other ways of course, maybe you discovered a new way, and it will be more useful than criticize the old way that have worked for others..."Bring us solutions, no more problems..."

I think the advocacy position for the Ultrasone sound is becoming more like "you would enjoy them more if you just let yourself believe." I really don't like the term brainwashing and I don't really think one needs to be brainwashed to enjoy them either if one is so inclined. But in my opinion, telling others they need to allow themselves to be brainwashed to enjoy them is not supportive of a positive position, but just the opposite. Some people will never like them because they hear things differently. That is the way of things.
I hope everyone has been enjoying themselves because it sure has not been fun for me reading much of this lately. I don't feel like I am brainwashed but I guess those who are would never admit to it anyway. So I may well just cop to it. I must have been brainwashed by the Ultrasone way of hearing the music I enjoy because I do. Objectively knowing now that I am brainwashed, can I be sure that I have been enjoying them or it is just some plot to make me think I am enjoying them. HELPPP!! . |
We never said "brainwashed", we said brain transplant, that is different, and was an analogy as James used that term ironically at the beginning, and later on we keep on using it...
But of course that you do not need to believe, this is not a faith to embrace, and we all know that they are good enough to let you hear the truth (the ones who like them of course) and this is a real feeling for us, and this is the only way till now that had prove to be effective, but there must be other ways as well...just as an example: I was fighting for a week with them and the CD3K, comparing them side by side, and know what? Never adjust myself to that unique presentation they offer. I contacted Ultrasone, and later on I gave them a second chance, following some advices, after discussing with Florian and others, I decided to try a different approach, and stopped listening the CD3K for a while, and begin to look and try to hear those strengths that I was told the headphone had, the natural presentation, etc...and honestly, I found it, if I would have not found it, I would say the same, that is BS, but that was not the case, and this was the effective way to find it,
for me, and for some others as well, maybe for you is another way...but it makes sense, to me, that if you keep on reinforcing the unnatural presentation others offer, you never adjust yourself for the natural presentation of the S-logic effect...
I will use the same analogy, try to drive a car on the right seat, like in some places in Europe, see if you can do it the first day, and if it will be easier for you, to do it changing back and forth to the same old left side, all the time...
And please, I'm talking of just
the presentation, the soundstage, not the curves, freq extension, neutrality, accuracy, colorations, etc...
just the presentation...for the rest, as any other headphone, it has its strengths and flaws, you can like it or not, but the presentation is what made me feel weird at the beginning, with their new sound, and I used that trick, maybe for others with more adaptability will be easier, and another way will work...
We just offer what we had used, and what we know works...you offer what you know, and what you have tried, and we will have a complete picture, anyway we all know that at the end you have to be your judge, and try them for yourself...
