Very unlike the Indigo which is very easy to dislodge. I had the misfortune of dislodging one of them and it fell to the floor! Thankfully it still sounds sublime!
That has occurred with me as well. One one the sockets is just slightly loose so I make sure it is fully in place with every use. I have only cable rolled two or three times, but when I have, I found that my EA cables are more securely connected.

Lots of Sun and Water, not much listening time, after all this trip was a business social event, down time this morning. Took my Leica for a walk listening to Willie Bobo’s Finest Hour with the XE6, as the sun rose. On the flip side here is a phone snap from last nights sunset.

Stunning! Love Willie Bobo!

Man! When it dropped (onto hard flooring) my heart stopped I tell you!

I've dropped one of the Odin earpieces onto a hard wood desk and laminate counter so far *nervous laughter*

Yep! The Aroma stack is the main motivator behind this purchase, but I'm curious how the internal amp in the HM1K is too.
You'd be pleasantly surprised in that small package, probably cuz Hifiman has had a fair amount of experience making amps too. Odin seen below with the new Eletech O2L was a piece-a-cake, and it drives the DC Ti and Annihilator well enough though both are quite power demanding. On the Aroma stack, you will hear the Jewel open up, it’s hard to describe but you can discern a certain effortlessness in delivering what was otherwise a strain. You can tell the HM1K is made to be amped with several LO options — balanced and SE 4.4 and 3.5, toggle switch for USB C charging or OTG, blazing fast operations and long battery life. Pair up on BT with an iPod or smartphone, sit back and be blown away by the R2R on quad PCM1704K!

Compared against the 6Ti or 7AE, you’ll find the HM1K to be more dynamic, livelier, overall bigger sound but losing the mid-forward, intimate and sing-it-to-my-ear signature of the LP6es. Certainly complementary imo; I am looking forward to your impressions, but I think you will enjoy it…. very much. Congratulations on the acquisition again! 😊

Dorado 2020 down to 8! Talk about a fall from grace!

Today I bring you something different. Instead of IEMs or sources, I'll be covering the best earbud I've ever had the chance to try and I figured it would match this thread.

In fact, stratch that. Serratus is one of the best transducers I've ever heard and everyone knows I'm a picky one. Oh and did I mention that it is built by one of your watercooler's member, @tgx78? It only made sense to post it here so you can make fun of his creations or ask him for that bro-deal!

Hope you enjoy the reading as much as I enjoyed hearing these.

It's more that I happen to be fortunate to have heard a good deal of great IEMs-- apart from the top 3 or so a lot of the ordering there was somewhat arbitrary. The biggest takeaway for me in all this is how, beyond a point (say ~$1K) a greater MSRP doesn't necessarily correlate to more enjoyment for me.

What a difference a year makes. For me it is a space of less than a year! I still love the Dorado 2020 and I will keep my profile pix for a while yet in its honour. Recent acquisitions however have relegated them but they still hold a special place in my heart for how they opened my mind to what was possible.

The Indigo was next followed by the Xe6. I have Traillii incoming and maybe Jewel.

Still, Dorado is my first love and I still love them!

I just got my pair the other day and I am enjoying it very much.

Listening right now with the PAW6000. 🎵🎶🎵

So much clarity, so much detail delivered effortlessly and excellent soundstage that is separated naturally and remains cohesive.

Other adjectives I can think of are natural, balanced, and convincing.

+ 1 on this @HiFiHawaii808. I actually got the Ampersand because I was looking for a bit of power to extend using the N8ii with my ZMF VO for those times I want a bit of a break from my iems, and going C9 with this DAP seemed redundant on the tube side of the house, but I’m still curious… Inquiring minds and all.
Heya @HiFiHawaii808 - may have missed it, but have you perhaps gotten a chance to compare the C9 and Ampersand yet?
