Everything I want I can't afford, and what I can afford fails to inspire me...
Your remark reminds me the joke from Woody Allen: "I'd never join a club that would allow a person like me to become a member". Though I believe his original joke is about relationship, but it certainly applies here :).

It doesn’t get that much better than this. New arrivals.

Initial impressions out of the hugo2 is that the chain needed an amp to bring out the sound stage.

So moved onto Sp3000-orphyIC-Sov symphony- trailii

Technically excellent. Rich, weighty timbre. Controlled but a mild emphasis to the subbass compared to the stock PWA cable. But where this sings are the technical aspects, micro details and musical vocals. Without masking that treble sparkle.

Pins are tight on the Trailii. But I don’t see myself rolling this cable.

I’m guessing it’s the Symphony cable from how thick it is?

This is a bit of a shot in the dark, but can anyone recommend a mmcx or .78 adapter to Sony’s old ex1000 connector? I grabbed one off eBay and it was so tight it broke the cable I tried to attach it to. Grrrr! At least it was a cheap cable.

As much as I like the sound on the ex1000, it’s been the worst transaction I’ve had on here. This adapter is just the icing on the cake.

Any favourite album I should look into? Live perhaps?

drftr

He switches across many styles. Here are a few samplers…

YouTube clip of him playing "Caravan" in a duo with Josho Stephan (lots of great YouTube clips for him):

For streaming...

For a quiet ballad, he has an exquisite cover of the much covered song “Somewhere over the rainbow”:

This album is a recording of one his live shows, so gives a feel for it:

A duet with Frank Vignola:

I love seeing content like that depicting how technology might evolve - I used video content from archive.org to accompany some tracks back when I was uploading to YouTube, this one was from 1967 looking forward to 1999…

Ooh, that's nice! :grinning: Given that you seem to be into retrofuturism too, I just have to ask, do you ever watch picsnportraits' Sleepcore stuff?

Hahaha, you are right. I recently looked at stats on the best-selling beer. I thought it was going to be Heineken or something like that.
But I was wrong, it's Chinese beer, and it's sold only in China.
Tsingtao? Because if it is, it's definitely better than Heineken!

Still can’t get over how delicious looking the birds are. They look like candies

Yes. We’re enjoying the A/B to the 4 wire Mira and also my memory of the Sovereign.

Have a fellow cooler here … and we’re doing a fun morning. Storm and Singularity not mine. But there’s no denying both are very, very capable.

Forgive the messy photo and cross posted on the Noble Audio page. @Eric Chong the OtL is absolute magic with Spartacus. I had thought it would work and pleasantly pleased it did. Looks like this will be a firm pairing. Has that timbre and tuning that complements wonderfully.
