I went to Zach and Bevin's presentation at the last NYC CanJam and it was enjoyable hearing their amazing journey from starting in an apartment room to evolving to a larger manufacturing facility in a few years.
Here's a link to the video thanks to Relaxasaurus: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/can...-march-9-10-2024.971988/page-27#post-18017447
Zach is the mad genius/wizard and Bevin is the excellent business leader and customer service expert that made ZMF such a success.
Yes a great presentation. They are definitely my 2 favorite people in the hobby for sure.

Let’s get real here- who eats burgers 🍔 while listening to headphones? I have worries about getting drippings on the cord. Does anyone else run into this?
Other than my daily-driver Shure 1540s that take all the abuse I throw at them and never complain, I keep my high-end gear FAR, FAR away from food.

I wouldn’t trust myself to avoid getting chocolate sauce, peanut butter, or some other heinous substance on my prized Norne cables or ZMFs. 😂😝🙄

Alcohol, on the other hand… skål! 🥃🍻🥂

I am kinda surprised the silver one is not too far behind the S in price in the used market.
This thread moves fast (love it)... I think the pricing situation with the HD800 and HD800S comes down to preference. As mentioned by others, they bumped the bass up a bit on the HD800S (some think it sounds a bit artificial, others enjoy it) and reduced some of the peaky resonance.

A lot of HD800 OG owners have modded their headphones, and a popular mod is the SDR (Super Dupont Resonator Mod), that tames the resonance in the treble.

If you look at the HD800S's internals, the driver housing has a concentric ring that seems to try and replicate the SDR mod. So they sorta copied that mod, charged more for it, made it blacker, and boomed up the bass.

It is kind of like the HD600 vs HD650 situation.

Sonos has finally anounced their rumoured headphone Ace. Wonder how it compares to Hifi headphones. Especially considering the use cases they have presented it for.
Yup. Will pass probably

Hifiman Deva Pro is not like the typical Hifiman Sound. It does have a lower-end oomph. But no match for LCD-2.

Speaking of Hifiman.. nice interview with Dr. Fang.

My favorite quote (min 6:42): “We are human. We are not a robot.” 🙏

Enjoying this beautiful album from one my favorite contemporary female jazz vocalists.

I saw her performing in NYC a few months ago, it was a treat..

Just on the topic of female jazz, an earlier live recording 2009, surprisingly great imagery from a local Montreal artist.
