The HD-800 has grown on me. I didn't care for their looks at first, but their sound and comfort have softened me.

They are identical to the ones in the photograph, model number box and all, I had a second pair, but they were brown, and branded "Futura" I gave them to a friend, I'll bug him and see what they say. The pair I have I had removed the drivers, they were some paper cone garbage. I planned on modding them with some good drivers and some dynamat but persued other interests. They are brand new but the outer vinyl rings shrunk due to age and one fell off, I still have it.

is that aluminium in the cups? , you know being that big you could put speaker drivers in them .... that could be good for the sound.
