Quick question. I'm talking to you clearhead.

So in terms of soundstage the ISK HP2011 are better than the Takstar Hi 2050's? If yes i can hardly believe that a closed headphone can outperform an open headphone when It comes to soundstage.

The HI2050's are just semi open and soundstage is not one of their best features so that could very well be possible. Just my 2c......

Takstar Pro80's are still great headphones and the housing is the best looking one out of the several clones I've seen, but the sweet end to end transparent signature of the ISK HP2011 are just in another level. But, if you like clear punchy sound, you might want to go with the ISK HD9999, or the ISK MDH9000 for a broader bass response. Here goes some links.....

There are reflective ports that are cut-open around the drivers that allow the sound to bounce back to the listener presenting a bigger soundstage, which in return makes it possible to sound bigger than some open cans.  So, yes! It's possible!

Too much good headphones
confused_face_2.gif

I'm really intrigued about this ISK HP2011 and was already looking at the Takstar 5500 with growing interest...
Did somebody heard the 5500 and can compare both fastly?
Wondering how it pair with electronic and IDM music...

Man, I've been a Takstar Pro80 lover for years and always believed the soundstage bettered the HI2050, but that all changed when I slapped on the ISK HP2011. The looks may not be favorable compared to the Pro80's, but the sound is playing a sweeter and wider tune!.....that's for sure!

OH! I was thinking of buying Takstar 5500 instead of Pro80 because of the price and now you write this!
I think I will take a plonge and try this near-unknown IKS gem.

Last question, do you need equalizing to make them sound good??
(i'm kind of anti-EQ)

Cheers!

I test and hear all my headphones "completely flat" (EQ setting on flat) before making any decision on how they sound. The less EQ necessary, the better for me! These headphones are just epic on sound quality and transparency alone!

Got mine TS-671 (last pair I've seen for sale in Poland since they are completely gone from all shops now) . They are huge even when compared to already big Hi2050.

Sound wise I don't know how to describe it - it feels like you are closer to the source than in Hi2050 but otherwise it is very similar.
