1clearhead, you're absolutely right. Never knew that about aliexpress (live & learn).

But I'd still prefer the re-badged version on Amazon ("LyxPro HAS-30"): it's $6-7 cheaper, and I know from experience it'd probably arrive in 5-7 days vs the "10-12 days" quoted on Aliexpress.

Plus I have no feel for Aliexpress: how it works & whether you can totally rely on them. I do have that feel for Amazon. Not to say Amazon is 100% wonderful & amazing...they aren't. But on the few occasions I've had to shout the walls down w/Amazon, things happened--my problem got attention.

Man I almost thought Takstar had revealed the next great thing when I saw the activity here but I'd guess that's not the case.....

Perhaps someone should start a new thread. I will if no one else wants to. I don't give a s... crap.

No, Peter123, no great revelations here about Takstar. I'll post more impressions about the HD6000's wheb I get the pads changed out, but I don't expecting big changes from my initial so-so impressions. And I never was attracted by the other Takstars discussed in this long/interesting string...didn't sound like things I'd like.

But there are other inexpensive Chinese headphones out there. Maybe some real winners.

Yes of course there is and I'm more than happy to read about them in the right place. There's a whole thread dedicated to Chinese offerings here:

http://www.head-fi.org/t/820747/chinese-asian-brand-info-thread-portable-headphones-and-iems/885#post_12902314

If you like to discuss a particular model I suggest starting a thread for them.

This is not the first time this thread is turned in to a sales add for ISK and I just can't see a reason for it when it takes like one minute to make a new thread and all people going there will be interested in talking about them while (I'd guess) most people coming here is looking for information about Takstar.......

Yea, Amazon and other American websites are a lot faster and safer to order from when living in America probably. And chances of ordering through Aliexpress can be edgy, but once you mastered the different stores, you kind of get an idea who can be trusted and who can not. Though, Aliexpress can be a good experience for many types of Chinese earphones and headphones to be had.
Cheers my friend on your other finds!

mikp, I have the Takstar HD6000's, which I'm pretty sure have the same earpads as the 5500's. They're very uncomfortable headphones. I've already replaced those pads with something else, but it's not enough--the pads need to be not only firmer (the originals are too thin & give too easily), but deeper. I actually have 2 pairs of the HM5 extra thick pads on order. 1 is for the Takstar HD6000's (which I'll probably end up selling soon, regardless--too many headphones). The other pair is earmarked (sorry!) for a pair of JVC HA-SZ1000-E's that I haven't even unboxed yet--almost everybody who wrote about these 'phones & their big brother, the 2000's, said the stock pads were garbage and should be replaced by something thicker.

These are the pads I ordered: http://www.mp4nation.net/brainwavz-hm5-thick-memory-foam-earpad-suitable-for-large-over-the-ear-headphones-1pc

SKU #4298.

I sure hope the right ones come in...pleather, ~1" thick. If I get velour or something else I don't want, it will be very annoying.

Those are the pads that I use for the Takstar HD6000. They fit the HD5500 in size too. Those are the Sennheiser Urbanite XL replacement pads and the're made of some kind of weird fabric that doesn't make my ears sweat like velour pads but still keeps the bass tight like pleather.

Apologies to those on this Takstar thread who were annoyed by my recent posts regarding different Chinese headphones, the Yenona's.

Never intended to hijack this long-running, informative thread; just didn't know of a better place to put my comments.

Anyway, I just started a new thread about the Yenona's: http://www.head-fi.org/t/822564/yenona-adapter-free-dj-headphones#post_12924424

And posted a review of them here: http://www.head-fi.org/products/yenona-adapter-free-dj-headphones

Thanks!

Here's a thread that would work great for the Yenona's.  Feel free discuss them or any other good Chinese offerings you find.

Just read through that thread--it's terrific! Had it been there weeks ago, I'd have gladly posting comments about the Yenona's there instead of here.

(better late than never...)

Thanks!

PS: I do still have have slight claim to citizenship in this thread, as owner of the Takstar HD6000s. Yes, they're FS, but still (!)

well, i got to try the hm5 pads on the takstar 5500, and now they are at least wearable. Got them 2 years ago, but never worn because too uncomfortable.

put on a bluetooth adapter to compare it with the bluedio t3 bluetooth, that is a little boomy.

Anyone experience with the takstar TS671? I'm still looking for a replacement for open back Takstar 2050s. https://www.amazon.com/Takstar-TS-671-Full-open-Quality-Headphones/dp/B00FYII5NC/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?s=aht&ie=UTF8&qid=1478586845&sr=1-1-fkmr0&keywords=open+back+headphones+takstar?

I have them both (actually I have never used 2050, but I used Pro80 a lot->the 2050 seems to exagerate problems of Pro80)

The 671 are more midcentric
As to say they kind of are good when they play loud.
The 2050 have some midbass hump, while 671 slowly die out (and the bass is not that good, hard to describe)
The 2050 has somewhat piercing treble, while 671 goes a little bit down in that area, to go up in the 10kHz+ area (which is positive, especially with the sound of metal elements)
The 671 has large and much diffuse soundstage, while 2050 has small (not much improvements over pro80)
The 671 is rather for accoustic, instrumental music (not that much for electronic)
