   I have seen the headband padding part on ebay but not sure it was a genuine beyer part or aftermarket clone.

 
I only found the headband pad for the DT880s.

Had the same problem and ended up going with Moon Audio...and couldn't be happier with my Black Dragons.  And I'm not sure if it matters to you but Drew at Moon has a relationship with Beyerdynamic so that a recable with him does not void the Beyerdynamic warranty.  Don't get me wrong, I've heard great things about Robert's work...just wasn't working out for me.

My T1 are already fitted with the wonderful Zeus cable.
I just wanted an XLR to SE adapter which I am getting made by Peter of Double Helix.
Peter has always been excellent to work with.

I don't believe it is. You would probably have to replace the whole top of the headphone.
