Just spent the last couple of hours listening to my A18s and Chord Hugo2 combo. Just WOW! These have to be heard together guys. With the H2 the soundstage and resolution are there with no sibilance whatsoever...no matter the source. I have TBs of DSD, FLAC 24/192, ALAC files and an Oppo Blu-ray player but nothing really special and the transport doesn't seem to matter. I'm sure the recordings matter too but I even have the stock cable on my A18s. These are a definitely a keeper for me.
We love the Hugo2! Great combo

Cool, which ones do you recommend? in terms of apex modules.

Also, chord hugo 2 or micro idsd signature if I have lcdi4 and hd800s as well to drive?
That's the great thing about the apex modules is they each offer a different experience both frequency response wise and sound stage wise. I would advise experimenting to see which types of recordings/genres/instrumentations sound best with each module; that way you can anticipate which module you're in the mood for depending on the music you plan on listening to.

We would definitely advise the Hugo2.

how about wm1z or hugo 2? :stuck_out_tongue:  I know for a fact wm1z feeding H2 is killer good hehe

hmm so you are recommending using the included silicon tips rather the foams? Because the silicon ones has more fidelity? or it is sounding more like it was tuned in the shop?

Both tips are chosen based on how they affect the sound (or don't). So whichever one is more comfortable. WM1Z into Hugo2 is probably amazing!

Xelastecs are the only tips that made 64U work for me. Anything else and the IEMs slip out all the time
Regarding Sedna Xelastecs, is it right you should order a size lower than the one you would normally choose? i.e. get ML if you would normally get L.

It's tough to say what will be 100% accurate for everyone, but I've certainly found this. In fact for certain IEMs I've dropped 2 sizes.

My recommendation is to try and find a pack with three different sizes in. It may be expensive, but with the mulitpack you will get a decent idea on which size works best

What ear tips do people use? I am looking for some aftermarket ones for my U12t.

Personally, I like using the Spinfit CP145. They're not wide-bore, but the way they're shaped fires the high frequencies a good deal on the U12t. I feel more comfortable using them than the stock silicon tips which allow the nozzle to get really close-up to your ear. On the other hand, I've found the Final E tips to neuter the highs - I used to think the U12t was a darker IEM! - which might a good option if you're sensitive to the U12t's treble peak.

As for foams, I don't really use them, but the stock ones are nice if you want a smoother treble response. They tame some of the 15kHz peak; of course, you get less air as a result.

The modules also make small differences to the U12t outside of the bass; the M15 exhibits more air and opens up the stage ever-so-slightly more to my ears. Of course, that could be more of a perceptual shift due to there simply being less bass.

Spiral Dots are my personal favourite with all the 64 Audio hybrids and U12t. Also short length so they can sit right up to the nozzle or you can push them slightly forward with a spacer. On the Trio/Fourte the Spirals leave a small gap between nozzle and tip because of the shorter, thicker nozzle on those IEMs compared to the U12t/Nio.

I find the Spirals more comfortable than the stock silicone, which flare out more and therefore offer a shallower fit if you want that. They also bring out the bass and have a soothing effect on the treble that I really like - not reducing it, just smoothing it a bit.

I like Spinfit ones (CP100 and CP240).

Side note.

Opinions on good sinergy DAP for A12t? (Need Tidal offline)

You can get multipacks if that helps, Would have tried them by now if available in uk.

X2 on CP145. I use size L with Nio, easily the nost comfortable to use for a long time, already tried sedna light short / normal, Aet08, final e type, spiraldot++ and various tips but I feel spinfit hit the balance on the fit and sound
