Quick question - Any cables around 100-ish that reduce (or eliminate) microphonics? I'm using the custom IEM variant if that makes a difference.
I LOVE the way the A12t sound, but when I'm walking outside I feel like the added microphonics (wind or just rubbing onto my clothes) just leaves me with 40% of the original experience, so I'm curious how you dudes handle that .

I can do even better! I thing an amazing $40 cable. Look on Amazon for "westone epic twisted audio cable." It's pretty amazing.

Looks good. I have a few questions though.
First and foremost, how do you compare microphonics with the stock cable? I'm mostly really into this aspect as I'm not sure I'll be able to tell the sonical difference a better cable could make.
Do you know which of the L-shaped 3.5mm jacks should be best? Or should they all kind of be on par with one another?
Did you find any differences in sound compared to the stock cable?

I use the Linum SuperBax with my N8 since I prefer not to have earhooks unless necessary. Its very thin and light, comfortable, came with a nice case that holds my IEMs plus an ES100.

Thanks for all the recommendations. I can see there are low-microphonics options in many of the price categories. I wouldn't want to spam questions about all the details so I'll do further research by myself, but thank you for the good starting point

They changed the N8 apparently. My first pair got used very hard for about 2 years and eventually died in an unfortunate laundry accident. The new ones are much thicker in the upper sub-bass to midbass range and kind of muddy. The originals were perfect, wish I hadn't treated them so badly. they had gobs of subwoofer-like sub-bass without the midbass bloat . There are clear differences in the driver layout in the new pair. The DD now faces to the side instead of backward for instance. They're still pretty good though, just not perfect (to me) like my 2018 N8's were.

I probably should've tried a pair of A12s or A18s instead. 64 deserves credit for getting the new N8's to me during this crisis though. I appreciate it.

Also I want to give 64 credit for taking care of their previous USPS shipping problem involving cash on delivery. They fixed that after my order was returned to them.

I expected a different sound signature and was rather surprised by an elevation in the midbass, which almost let me cancel my plans for a custom N8. In the end I did get a custom N8, and much to my relief it fit my taste much better than the demo unit, with strong subbass, but without the midbass hump.

Very much tempted by the A18s now... but build times are a understandably bit long right now.

How's the tangle factor these days?

I have a fetich for cable handling, going back to my live-sound / PA-days... so I always carefully coil them up and let them get free by holding the IEMs and letting the ES100 dangle. So far (~1,5 years) its OK.

Really interesting argument @Precogvision, I've been feeling the pain about various cheap, instead of what I really want. I will share the love here too. As more I spend with other IEMs, I always tend to go back to my A12t and LX. I also have lost quite a bit of money with things that I didn't like after a couple weeks.

It is getting repaired, so you can kinda disregard what I said. I think all my problems can be attributed to a faulty midrange array on the right IEM.

I thought it was just really bad-sounding but when it got a little worse over time I started to realize something was mechanically wrong.

Stuck with my futuresonics MG5hx in the meantime....ugh. N8 is like an Hd800 with a subwoofer (at least my old one was); MG5hx is like a portapro.

Do you guys have any experience with requesting an RMA to adjust/fix how your IEMs sound (fr)?

I received my A12Ts around three months ago and I've been really disappointed with how they sound. They sound extremely dark and muffled—I lose so much detail compared to my VXs and Andromedas. The U12Ts I demoed before buying the A12Ts sounded better.

Someone told me that I can get them RMAed as there are darker units of the A12Ts, is this something 64 does?

U12t are far less dark than a12t but still no sparkle treble.

I’ve owned the LX and the LX has way more bass than the A18S - you can get the A18S to LX bass with the M20 module and a very very warm source

It has less, and much more controlled/detailed treble than the A18t as well. The sound is also extremely clean with perfect separation so at no point do I feel overwhelmed by it. I tend to crank up the volume on the A18S more so than I do on anything else I own and my listening time can go up to 10-12 hours a day so nah, it’s not fatiguing at all. It also has less bass than the Fourte Noir which is definitely warmer than the FiR M5

there’s also been reports of quite some variation between M5 units, and some have had specifically bloated bass - you might’ve tried one of the “unlucky” ones

I would appreciate some information about the A18s compared to the Tia fourte. I'm new to 64 Audio products and was using a Noble Khan when I recently found a used Tia fourte on Head Fi. I am using it with an SP2000 and Effect Audio Code 51 cable. I enjoy it and being old do not have any problems with the treble. Will I hear less treble with the A18s? Any other significant differences? I have never had a custom IEM and once ear molds can be done would like one. The 20% off sale ends soon and I'd like to order something. Thanks.
