I unfortunately have to agree with your take here. I tried every tip and cable option I have on hand and was just left with a somewhat muddy signature to my ears. I think the somewhat dirty albeit impactful bass adds to this. With the mx module, I just feel there are better options that can be had a lower price point. Definitely love the look of them however.
Care to name a few (by pm if you don’t want to go to far off topic).

Bought two 64 Audio aluminum cases. Empire Ears changed theirs first and JH Audio did it before both. This shows that manufacturers are finding them better and I agree. The threads on the 64 Audio case are shallow vs the the Empire Ears case. The JH audio case is almost as shallow, but easier to match up the threads.

Do yourself a favor and pick up the aluminum case if you have the plastic 3D printed case.

2 iem pin inserts which got widened?
Do you mean that the distance between the 2 pins is now greater than before (so the pins are no longer perfectly parallel to each other)?

If so, you should be able to squeeze them together with your fingers.
If that doesn't work, pliers will, but remember to wrap the pins in rubber or something else to stop the metal of the pliers from scratching off the plating on the pins

My take on the Nio…

Not for me. Very disappointed. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Seems like I'll have to write another review with the Nio together with the MX module...

Trying this combo for a little while before sending them back and now I get something more interesting.

The apex really takes some time to get used to for me though... I think I'm starting to like it.

Very very soon :)

omg... quick release the info at least lol, with Mest Mk2, Jolene and the coming 3 new 64a lineup we need info soon before some of us jump on the other wagon... assuming the price points are similar?

Definitely! Don't forget the recent USA releases of Empire Ears Mk2 IEMs.

The only EE i'm curious about is the Odin, but that is around 2x the price of the others so i didn't bother to list that in lol
I've owned the MEST mk1 before, so i roughly know the general tuning and could guess-timate the mk2 tuning. However Jolene would be a blind jump for me. Judging from JH's dark, thick and warm tuning trend in almost all their models, i'm more hesitant on the Jolene especially on the treble performance. I was looking for an Elysium mids+treble with DD Bass, but i doubt Jolene would fit that role though :disappointed_relieved:
