No sandpaper. Sandpaper is for the Z1R ear mods. Was that with or without the use of sandpaper?

Hey all, my review of the Tia Fourte’s just been published here: https://www.headphones.com/blogs/news/64-audio-tia-fourte-review-the-dynamic-savant
And here’s the video review if you’d rather watch that instead:
I enjoyed reading your review but can’t say I agree with your impressions. Can’t recall I ever come across any of your reviews of one multi kilo-buck iem that you don’t bash. That would be THE TOTL iem to absolutely blind buy, when and if it ever happens
Thanks for reading! I did a double-take when you said there wasn't one multi-kilobuck IEM I haven't bashed, but yes, I have to admit that's mostly true. It definitely makes for a good introspective into reviewer biases. My personal price ceiling - around $1500 - is much lower than a lot of the people who frequent these threads, and like so, there's an incentive for me to conclude that something more expensive is not necessarily better. Then there are, of course, the higher expectations that inherently come with the price tag of a multi-kilobuck IEM. I would expect a multi-kilobuck IEM to be top-tier; that is, an IEM that stands at the audio summit irrespective of its price.
I think there's also a fine line between bashing and citing potential dealbreakers; my EE Odin review is probably a good example, as it's one of two multi-kilobuck IEMs (the other being the Tia Trio) that I've remotely given the nod too. Given the highly-subjective nature of the hobby, I'll almost always be able to find something that's not perfect about a given IEM. But I definitely look forward to if I ever find an IEM that, to my taste, I can say is near-devoid of flaw!
Brain burn in is also a reviewer bias Tiger ears. An iem that you like will only grow in time as you get use to the nuances of the presentation. That does not give it any justice bro, I spent at least a year with each iem. The Fourté the Trio the Noirs.
I have a life of emotions and memories threw all this years with those iems. Its the best pact of trio sets on the market. I been threw many sets down the road.
Yea they are not perfect as nothing is. I had my moments of dispute also lol
To truly judge a sound of an iem you need to pass a good month with it then see how it has lived up against your needs and the competition.
Yes it is expensive but not anymore when you have tralili, erlky, and few other brands.
Just to give you an additional testimonial how impressive is fourte and a top of the line dap! I did a/b wm1z with fourte against the sennheiser h-e1! And to me fourte and 1z was far better to my taste.
And we are talking of 55k vs 7k...
So it is great to make a review but if you dont like the product and give it odd impressions with mixed results. What help does that bring? A glory of having something cool and expensive in hands?
So for how long you been listening to fourte? How much hours have you set on it?
By the way I listen with stock premium cable terminated in 2 5 with my sp2000 copper and stock medium silicon eartips.
Just observing around the multiple threads, I can see more examples of people thinking the new piece of gear was amazing on the first weeks and then, became not so good or even meh after a few months. But if it was bad or not that good on the first days, it didn't become good overtime.
So it's easier to find more flaws overtime than goods.
Other observation was that sometimes the person defending too much a product was mostly related to justification of the investiment and opinion. And also noticed the opinion changing slightly after the product was sold.
So, yeah... Bias can and will come in different ways. But it will always have bias.
That's completely ok and I totally understand the process. I also want to get my hands on a Z1r again after almost 2 years.Hehe if that helps my path was
Fourté to Trio to Noirs and now back to Fourté
What I had before fourté og? Hd800s + hdv820 and wireworld all copper.
So I reassure you there is no bs here on my side or trying to defend my purchase. I been in the 64a iem boat for a long time
I find the same. A piece of audio gear, especially headphone and IEMs, that totally wow me at first listen is usually going to end up being fatiguing or specialist for one particular trait that made it stand out in that initial listen. It's those that don't totally blow me away at first listen that end up being keepers. YMMVMy comments were general and based on my observations (maybe some would share that observation as well) on how brain works and that's totally ok and natural to the human being. Nothing wrong with anyone.
