Hey, I just got one of those Little Bear P1 amps off Ebay (first time I've even tried an auction).

Are they any good, or did I just waste 40 Canadian Pesos?

I heard great things about them through a customer, SQ-wise.

It is about 160rmb in China(last time I checked a couple months back),

so with shipping 40 sounds like a great deal. (the power unit is like a huge lol)

Just make sure to unplug them when u r leaving the house, for safety and it will last longer.(under-voltage tube is not really any safety threat, but it will not last anywhere near as long as when it is under proper-working-condition. )

hope this can be helpful

Cheers

Somehow I'm getting the impression you guys have an ulterior motive rather than getting help for our forum Brother. Don't worry Nik, I'm looking it up as we speak:

Let's see now.  Head basket, Head case, Head trauma, Head nurse. OOoooooooohhhhhh HEAD NURSE.....

Um.... Where was I. What was I doing?

As I've been saying all along. Quite a remarkable device and believe me, it punches WAY above its price point in technicalities. Glad you like it Nik!

I don't like it, Craig. I love it!

I went for a walk tonight with iPhone -> Mojo -> Empire Ears Athena. I was jammin' so hard. Then Mojo died, and I was stuck with just iPhone. Not good, man. Not good

EDIT: Not just technicalities, Craig. I don't want Labsters to think it's one of those sterile, technical devices. It's not. It's technical while remaining highly musical. Beautiful blend of art and science

Soundaware Esther is another such blend...

It's all technicalities!! Rob Watts has spent the better part of 30 years getting the audio reproduction to be MUSICAL THROUGH THE TECHNICALITIES. What I'm finding with a lot of gear lately is that if it sounds sterile or exaggerated it's because..... well.... it is. A lot of gear is tuned to be exaggerated in a similar way that the loudness wars have taken hold of music production. This exaggeration is quite frankly a way to please the ear initially but in the end it can't compete, and until you hear something like the Hugo or Mojo one may never know what they are really missing. The capabilities of the Mojo go way beyond just frequency response and delve deep in to the timing and accurate reproduction of the original recording. As Rob has said, the Mojo is thousands of times more capable than any off the shelf solution. I'm not an EE, but I'm very keen to understand his DAC design and implementation.

Like I said in my review, the Mojo is "Veritas", Latin for truth and often associated with beauty. It's the accurate reproduction of audio that eases our brains in to the pure enjoyment of the music. You guys don't know how much I've actually been holding back on REALLY gushing about the Mojo since before it was released, and I honestly think it's the most significant audio device ever released in its price bracket, and well above.

Edit: Rob is truly an artist in his field an Chord should be thankful he's in their corner IMO.

Another piece of gear from a true artisan in their field, the Liquid Carbon. Alex Cavalli has had a hand in starting the Internet, is on many University Enginering boards, and happens to love audio (lucky us!). His implementation of current based amplification is stunning in this small wonder amp. Pictured here with the X5 as a transport feeding the Audio-GD DAC-19 (not shown) to the Liquid Carbon and finally the ETHER C....

Its really too bad that the Liquid Carbon is only a release of 500 because it's exceptionally good for the price as well.
