Yeah, I think I'll kick the AKG's and focus on squeezing the most out of my HE400. Sorbothane mod coming Tuesday...

Sorbothane mod? Do tell.

Maybe you should've just covertly swapped your old drivers into the 400s cups/headband and sent the old stuff off to the next victim/reviewer

Put strips of sorbothane vibration dampener around the perimeter of the cup under the outer grills. Supposed to cut down on ringing and seriously level-up HE400.

So for my HE400, I'm doing the sorb-mod, considering which pads I'd like to switch to, and will do the suspension strap mod at some point. Should be pretty rad after all that.

Sounds like there's quite a few mods out there for the he400. Maybe not quite to Grado levels, but even still.

Somebody really needs to release some down filled earcups. They'd be too hot for the Summer months, but now that Winter is on it's way… mmmmm, snuggly.

Happy Turkey day to you both and all my fellow canucks on here! I predict an epic hibernation tmr night after thanksgiving dinner ;)

And also a big congratulations to those who were selected for the X7 tour! you guys/gals are in for a treat :)

I only told a few people but I actually had an opportunity to buy a brand new X7 for myself and I went for it and it is on its way I am happy to say! Although I was hoping it would get here sooner it seems it will take a bit longer! I have a feeling the tour units will reach you guys first :P

I had some samples sent to me via HK post and it reached toronto in TWO FREAKING days. How is that possible? I wish it would go through toronto instead of vancouver.

Vancouver seems to be quite backed up at the moment customs wise, according to a canada post customer service rep :(  Hopefully I can get my X7 by this week once it reaches canada. They have been holding on to another package of mine since September 20 for no reason lol. It just shows that its in Richmond, BC. I hate canadian customs lol

I envy my american labsters who get no customs or import tax hassles :P

I'm actually thinking of getting fleasbaby to make me some woodie cups for them at some point. It'll certainly look absolutely killer, will most likely be lighter, and might have a positive effect on tonality. Who knows

I'd kinda like it if my Grados got wood too.

If I actually had the tools, I'd give it a try. The Grado cups seem relatively plain, so even a simpleton like myself should be able to cobble something passable. At least I could make them compatible with the big hm5 pads so i wouldn't need an adapter.

Finally,

Happy Canadian Turkey (or Vegan Turkey Substitute) Day to all my Cdn. Lab-bros.
Tamal, I hope customs gets sorted out for you too.
