True. But isn't that just the watered down OS?  I know there are some tablets that have an Intel iX cpu (Microsoft's own Surface Pro, for example) that run the full Win8. I would like to just run my desktop programs, as they are (Musicbee specifically). There is already a fake version of Musicbee in the app store that Microsoft hasn't exactly been on top of, so that goes to show how well the app store policing works. Just better to run versions I know and trust.

No idea man, but they were talking about something called universal apps? Perhaps its what you're referring to, running it on computer and phone.

I plan on going android this time around till apple pulls their schiit together. I haven't really been interested in an apple phone since the iPhone 4. They really need to turn it around for iPhone 7 for me to give them a shot. I really really need to have a native file manager, makes life so much easier when doing majority of things on a phone. I don't like how I would have to jailbreak an iPhone to make it useful for my personally speaking. Last I used an iPhone, couldn't multiple attachments to emails lol.

MacBooks rock, but iPhone has been going downhill imo. Android is looking better and better. So many good ones to choose from.

Today's other delivery was the FLC 8S. These a tune-able triple hybrid put out by Forrest Wei. From the literature packed with the IEM, it looks like FLC mostly deals in CIEM wit the FLC 8S as their universal.

They've got several nozzles/filters and ports/plugs to tune sub-bass, mid & upper bass, mids, and treble. There are 36 combinations. Talk about customization!

I popped them in for a quick listen, and they were quite energetic in the stock configuration - med sub, max bass, max mids, and med treble. They're on the pink noise rig now.

Here are some pics:

The box is crazy origami-like

First fold it up to reveal the IEM

Then fold it sideways to reveal the accessories - can you tell Forrest Wei likes bright blue

Here are the FLC 8S in their metal screw-top case. They're pretty small, lightweight, and comfy with 2-pin cables.

You get a bunch of tips, a couple adapters, and a cleaning tool

And here are all the tuning filters and plugs. They're quite tiny, and FLC actually provides a tweezers to manipulate them. This is going to be fun to tour, lol

I'm glad I got these now, as I plan to compare them with the tune-able Torque t096z I've got in right now. I'll also be adding the tune-able RHA T20 to the comparison when I get them along with the Fiio EX1 from Eric later this week.

After I'm done with them, I'll be sending them out on a US tour (Eric's handling the Canadian side with another pair this time). No butter-fingers need apply!!!

Fun times, my friends!

Don't change the filters over carpet! Nor on the bus lol, unless you're a surgeon with really steady hands! You guys are gonna love them!

@RedTwilight: I'm forgetting, what are some of your favorite configurations for the FLC 8S? And yes, I'm planning on changing the filters and plugs inside a Tupperware type container in case any get dropped!

Hm so far I found these more to my tastes:

1) Default balanced:
- Med SubBass: Gray plastic front plug
- Med Bass: Gray rubber rear plug
- Med Mids and Treble: Gunmetal filter

I use this to compare the default sig to other iems, but the body, extension and general signature is quite pleasant by itself.

2) Enhanced vocals:
- Med SubBass: Gray plastic front plug
- Med Bass: Gray rubber rear plug
- High Mids and Med Treble: Gold filter

I like this config for the Wagakki Band songs (which make up most of my listening time) as they really accentuate the lead singer Yuko's lovely clear vocals without going into sibiliant territory.

3) A variation of the enhanced vocals, with flatter response:
- Low SubBass: Clear plastic front plug
- Low Bass: Clear-ish rubber rear plug
- Med Mids and Low Treble: Blue filter

@ljokerl also has a variant default balanced config:
- High SubBass: Red plastic front plug
- Med Bass: Gray rubber rear plug
- Med Mids and Treble: Gunmetal filter

Haven't really spent a lot of time with this as but will give it a try again now that I've somewhat learnt to appreciate bass better.

These guys may take some time to burn in fully I think. The new FLC8S demo I tried sounded a little harsher than the seasoned FLC8 demo but not sure if it's due to the difference in usage time, the cable or the possibly new shell material. The 8S has a bluish metallic sheen while the 8 is simply matte black.

Looking forward to giving mine a whirl. Delivered today but I was away from the office, so will get them tomorrow. Canadian Thanksgiving is Monday so we get a long weekend... perfect timing!

Hmm seeking your opinions, I have an opportunity to spring for a Fiio X3ii for about $150, an IDSD for about 400 and the FLC8S.. I already have the X3C with e12diy and the Deltas.

Any advice or should I just save the money for now?

@RedTwilight: Skip the X3ii and save for a better DAP. Your X3 -> E12 DIY with OPA827 is a pretty damn rad setup!

Haven't heard the IDSD, so I can't comment on that, but again E12 DIY with OPA827 is pretty damn rad, isn't it

That leaves FLC 8S, which I just got and have burning in right now. I think you've actually got more experience with them than any of us at this point. I don't know if anyone here besides you and I have even heard them. As far as customization goes, they're going to beat the Deltas hands-down. I've read good things about the FLC 8S, though, and Teo seems quite keen on them and you know he knows his IEM. So if I were you, I'd buy the FLC 8S if I bought anything.

Just my two cents...

I mean, really. I sooo loved the VE Zen with the Aune B1, and it's happening all over again with the X1S. I was listening to headphones and thinking ok, ok, not so good, and then I remembered the B1 + Zen synergy, grabbed the Zen and BAM!!!

All of a sudden I'm all fist pumping and throwing horns \m/ \m/

Yeeehaaa!!! Ride that unicorn, Batman. You deserve it, buddy

Haha yeaa it's pretty rad indeed! Hence the difficulty lol, so it'll be more of sidegrading only huh..

Been aiming at the FLC8 since LMUE opened it's store haha but back then couldn't justify the price. Now however...
