I just really love their soup-bowl styling, the rails that the phones actually are mounted to are nearly comically thick, their rather ostentatious. I'm a big aesthetics guy when it comes to over ears, if I want my sound to be right on I go IEM. I guess I'm a bit of a diva.

had this on my head for about 10mins just now....
does the name TELEFUNKEN rings a bell?
this can is known as the TELEFUNKEN HANCOCK.

http://www.amazon.com/Telefunken-HANCOCK-Over-Ear-Isolating-Headphones/dp/B00ZGF4V90

50mmdrivers...slurps..very very light weight..headband is some aluminium or flexsteel strip?
shallow velorpads...very very light clamp on the head, very very poor isolation...

very clean thin treble,  lean mids...
"planar" like bass, the drivers trying to latch on to something to generate the bassheft
but to no avail..lol. ( think problem is i am armed with only a Note1 :P )

But i suspect,

this would generate some clean magic with classical pieces when put on a tube amp...
u sitting on an armchair on a quiet night.

my short impression n imagination.

ps: just found out, this can is supposed to be SEMI open...
so that explains the poor isolation n light clamp design.

Why bulletproof, are you on the wanted list - I think I might be on one of those lists very soon!

Thanks Peter, that is good to know, I was wondering why they were the same price, I wonder with the T40iii would you have to drill holes or just remove some tape to make them ported.

Tbh I'm not sure about how the vents are closed (I'm only familiar with the T50RP MKii) but I'd go for the open version because it will most likely be easier to close the vent than to open it. That is if I was supposed to mod them....
