Maxx went crazy with this mod. LMAO I have yet to try it sadly.


I've only tried damping with light cotton ball inside the cup, and it subdued the treble and bass which I don't really like. I did got very good midrange but it become too reverse v shaped for me.

Oh right forgot to answer your question. Never heard the LPs but have auditioned the m80s at radio shack and these S500s can more than hang with them in almost every category.
 
My modded to high heavens set of S500s for me is better than the m80s, exact for the looks of course.

Should we contact Brian from BTG audio to see if he could give us a group deal on s500 recables? I'd like to have IEM connectors on mine, and the cable crackle when walking is annoying!

I'd go for a recable if it's cheap enough... Also, balanced would be nice, we could get a balanced to single ended adapter... :wink:
