The thing is, you have to disconnect the device so it refreshes the database.
AND : you have to be careful. Because when using NTFS the system may put a lot of DATA in cache before it is actually copied to the SD Card, so it you eject it too soon, no DATA on SD card which then may appear corrupted.
exFAT is preferable over NTFS for portable devices. And either way, you may have to check your drive settings to confirm that it is being configured as a removable devices so that it flushes data to disk ASAP.

I apologize in advance if you have already had this topic.
Bought this player this week, we’re still getting to know each other.
I’ve never had a Hiby player before.
I have two questions about the r3 pro.
1. I play my music from my sd card. When I copy a new item to the card, do I always scan all 4000 items in the database?
2. My music is organized in folders, from an artist up to 4-5-6 albums. I've tried all the settings all the way through, but I can't figure out what it might be. When an album ends, it doesn't automatically jump to the next album, but starts the same from the beginning.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Seems like a well balanced opinion on the low end Hiby players, its how Particular-Fix-3187 hears it so I won't argue with that.
I bought the R3 for its built in Wifi and DLNA/Tidal/Qobuz, it works very well as a source for DAC's, my Hugo 2 for example, either over USB or coax. I can use it by itself when out and about too where sound quality is of lesser importance. Find me another small DAP that can stream over wifi, DLNA/Tidal/Qobuz and play music stored on a SD card as compact as the R3 (or R2)
I cannot compare the R3 Pro Saber to the Fiio M3 Pro (since I don't own the latter). I can, however, compare the R3 Pro Saber to various Shanling players (M5, M2x, M5s) with AKM DACs. Overall I think those Shanling players are more musical, in particular, how you get the feel for the rhythm with them. M2x and M5s also have more sparkle in the top end. But obviously all those Shanling player are more expensive than the Hiby.
The R3 Pro Saber is a bit less detailed and overall smoother sounding. Yet, I think it delivers really good sound quality. I changed the digital filter from "Low-pass filter low latency" to "Fast filter phase compensated" - this filter seems to extract a bit more detail. Also, I am using the R3 Pro Saber to drive the Sennheiser HD 560S. These are pretty detailed headphones so having a slightly smoother source is actually beneficial. In terms of sound quality the R3 Pro Saber should be a good match for very detailed and/or brighter headphones.
The R3 Pro Saber mostly scores with its overall package: WiFi, Tidal, Qobuz, MQA, Bluetooth, MSEB, etc. Plus nice screen and fast UI. And also a lot of power on 2.5mm balanced out! Considering all of that you really get a lot of value for the price with the R3 Pro Saber.
Has anyone here paired their R3 Pro/Saber with a Chord Mojo? If so, why the preference for USB-C to 3.5mm coax rather than USB-C to Micro-USB? Also, how do you like it soundwise?
ItsOxymorphinTime is finding out that money can buy them equipment, but not enjoyment. Also, audible return does not proportionally scale with money spent.

I did back a while ago (Mojo now sold) The main reason I used USB-C to coax was to extend the battery life of the Mojo, I can't say how much longer it lasted because I never measured it but I'm sure I got more runtime with a coax input. No changes to the sound that I noticed but then again this was my portable setup so hardly a good scenario for critical listening.
I have the original Hiby R3. I just got a new car and whenever I connect the R3 to the car via its Bluetooth connection, payback stutters. If I disconnect and reconnect the R3, then it will usually begin playing correctly. However, every time I shut down and re- connect, the problem starts all over again! I tried upgrading to the latest firmware, but the result is the same. Am I doing something wrong? Should I roll back to a prior firmware?
