I am curious about the Qobuz app on the R3 Pro — does it have both a parametric equalizer and MSEB? If one uses the R3 as transport for a USB-connected external DAC, can you still use the EQ/MSEB settings or do they only affect the sound from the internal DAC?

According to how any other transport works, your EQ and other sound timings should be transferred to the connected DAC. Have a strong feeling that R3 here is not an exception.

Here we have statement in the description about the "non charging" feature. Looks like a good way out to try. Thank you!

Just tried some Google searches. Glad to help out. Also found this one (faster shipping):

https://www.amazon.com/Fiio-CL06-Type-Micro-Cable/dp/B07DLQ2XYZ/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2XX7LESHN3RES&dchild=1&keywords=fiio+cl06&qid=1616067040&sprefix=fiio+cl,aps,173&sr=8-1

Obviously not tested by me on R3 Pro. I actually have this cable for my FiiO Q5s.

I'm afraid that this not going to work. In the description it says that it's not charging the device because of OTG from the both ends.
I have OTG cable for USB type C and OTG cable for micro USB + I have USB type A cable from both sides. So I conected 2 OTG cables with USB type A cable and then connected DAP with R3 - still charging.
Jus called my local technician friend and he told me that he used to deal with the similar case before and the solution was to add resistor to the charging conductor of the cable. The goal is to find the lowest possible resistor, which letting the both devices see each other, but in the same time minimized discharging to the close to zero level. He said that its no possible to stop discharging completely as power exchange is one of the requirements of such a connection, but it's possible to minimize it a lot, so it's not going to bother as an issue.

Thank you a lot for your kindest offer! I don't think that it's going to work in my case, due to the test I described above, but it seems that I found a solution, which I also described in a previous post.
Anyway, really appreciated for you kindest help and amazing effort!

I have OTG cable for USB type B and OTG cable for micro USB + I have USB type A cable from both sides. So I conected 2 OTG cables with USB type A cable and then connected DAP with R3 - still charging.

I am testing now. R3 Pro USB-C out => FiiO CL06 cable => Fiio Q5s micro-usb in. The Q5s does not indicate charging.

Hm...Thank you for this information. I do have same Fiio cable, but with micro usb from both sides, so I can use USB type C - micro USB adapter and then connect both devices with the cable. Will be really surprised if the discharging will not shows up.
