Ruh Oh, some bodies not farmillar with the Solo 2 measurements on it are pretty fantastic, an I'm actually enjoying them [as tehy actually do sound good] ! As a matter of fact, they sound a lot better than my Sennhesier HD 25-1 II [a classic recommendation mind you]

Better yet, here's Tyll review on them! If you don't take my word for it

Am familiar with Tyll having them on his WOF and also quote/link to that review a lot -- especially on why Beats suck threads.

My Ruh-Oh was sarcastic for the inevitable replies you'll get on how horrible ALL Beats are that there are always better alternatives.

I provided the links so he could get an even better value on his purchase.

If they get to $99 on BF, will probably pick up a pair...will be happy if they can hang with my Amperiors (which were $84 btw)

If they are anything like the Studio 2, then no. Those things bog and distort like crazy with an amp
Only paid $80 for my ATH-Pro700MK2 on Amazon. Much better than any beats imo. With those savings you can purchase an amp

They are not the Studio 2, an this is a thread for headphones that don't need any amping, modding or burn in

So while I can appreciate the value an quality of an Amped ATH pro700MK2 this thread is for un amp cans, an right out of my LG V10 an my iPod the Solo 2 does well with everything!

So don't comment on a headphone you've not heard, an let's also talk about how your amping, if your Double Amping, everything will "distort" since your feeding your can's distortion. You need to amp via a Line out, an if your eq'ing you need EQ down, not up. So if u want +10dbs at 50hrz, then eq everything after it down, if you EQ the bass up, your going to get distortion regradless of what your using

Speaking of EQ I've ran about 7 or 8 dbs at around 30hrz using a Parametric EQ on my V10 an I found the Solo 2 to handle it well, my HD 25-1 II does a little better with a little less EQ due to it's very high Efficency rating

my point is, the Solo 2 is an easy headphone to own an listen to

Wasn't double amping and didn't have any EQ on. I've heard the Solo2 in store, but not extensively. I would also rec the Pro700MK2 without an amp. Plenty loud. I also have the V10

Fair enough,I really do need to hear the ATH Pro 700 MK II though it's an fairly old recommendation. I'm curious what new cans can match it

I'll say this though, I compared my HD 25-1 an Solo2 both out of my V10 with an without Eq, an again on my HM 901 [without eq (the eq on that thing sucks xD)]

An while for Bass Heavy Music the HD 25-1 was cleaner, for all genres the Solo 2 was over all better. Trust me, I was on the "beats suck" wagon for a LONG time. Having spent around 15 hours with my Solo 2 I can stand behind the recommendation, size also makes it nice for portable situations to, which is a lot of the reasons why people go ampLess

LF Recommendation:

I would like to get myself a good pair of IEM that will be used in the bus, I listen mostly to rock classical jazz... I'm currently using a very old generation of apple earbuds since my newer version of those broke which i thought sounded alot better. Any suggestion for IEMs below 40$? A good quality to price ratio would be more important then best overall sound quality.

Thanks

I like the Soundmagic E10. It was just voted best budget earbud by Headphones Addict. Whether it is the best, I do not know, but it is very, very good. You should definitely check it out.

Looks like they are very good but i would kinda feel bad spending 64$ on IEMs (the price in canada), i have a pair of AKG Q701 at home, i would only use the IEM when travelling.

I might consider it if you say that everything below that price sounds very bad compared to it.

One more thought is the Brainwavz Delta. It's pretty solid and should fit budget. It's certainly not bad.
