The Fiio X3 Thread.

I think I'm definitely going to be using my ALO Rx MK3 with it, since I intend to use the rig with a pair of Mad Dog orthos (on the hard side to drive). Hopefully I'll wind up with a cleaner signal going to the MK3 via the X3 (compared to the Sony F806).

One thing I haven't heard much about is accessories.
Hopefully we can talk about accessory wishes/suggestions without drawing too much ire...

I remember seeing this silicone render (I think it's a render), and the wallet-style one below.

But given that this is a piece of kit that many of us will develop an unhealthy affection for...
How about a Yotank-style?  Something unnecessarily masculine, for those of us who do extreme sports (like riding the bus).

second the though on the range of accessory it have. one thing i notice abt the ibasso dap is not much accessory in the market.

having said that, waiting for this DAP release!

hmmm maybe "READ THE FIRST POST BEFORE POSTING (UPDATE:March 20th) Fiio X3...." would be a better title, if bold and underline was available options for the title

Nope, I think that is the hm-602, not the hm801.

I can't believe I'm only today learning of the X3 - I'm so excited.

Finally we will have an affordable, high quality DAP that plays FLAC, has a card reader, and a Line Out (instead of headphone out, or only optical out, as with the overpriced AK100).

What else can do this at even 96/24 resolution (or higher)?

My Sony PCM-M10 has a card reader and Line Out with 96/24, but no support for FLAC, and its proprietary delta-sigma DAC is a tad grainy and bright.

I'll be an early adopter of the X3 - hoping I like its DAC section.  Interface awkwardness,if any, won't be a problem for me.  (Try using a PCM-M10 as a DAP.)
