The Fiio X3 Thread.

I would assume one would have had to purchase the X3 from the official website to have a security code.

Nope. All FiiO devices come with a 'scratch to reveal' security code on the box. If not it's fake.

Well, no not X3. The system was implemented a few years ago with the original e07 and e17 amp/DACs from what I remember. It's a good way of checking authenticity.

Does the X3 scratch easily for anyone else? I feel like there may have been minor scratches on mine when I bought it. I have had it in a protective case whenever something could contact it and scratch it. I have one scratch n the metal net to the switches and on on the sloping part of the X3 at the top. IF you know where I mean there. Just before the headphone and coax outputs. Either it came with them and I didn't notice them or it scratches really easily. I have treated it really carefully the whole time i have had it.

What I do like about it though is that the screen just doesn't get scratched at all. The screen protector does a great job and always wipes clean. It is nice that FiiO provide 2 spare as well as having one on in the first place.

I am now using the HS5 case so the screen and buttons are open and I am wondering if the metal near the buttons may end up getting more scratched at some point.

I just had the scariest thing happen. My X3 wouldn't turn on. It showed the charging light, but no matter what I did, the screen was black. After a few minutes of plugging into my computer, messing around, etc. it actually turned on. No idea what happened.

Yeah, seems that there are fake X3 out there :L3000:

That's sarcasm, right?

Did you try the reset button?

Probably just a glitch. Electronic equipment sometimes does that. That's why they have resets.

I did not try the reset button. But as I had said, it turned on randomly after a few minutes. Its working fine now. Probably a glitch yes.

Hi! So what's happening is in China, Fiio is currently having a deal, where old X3 users can use their security code to get the new second generation X3 for 50$ less. I really want one and would wish someone who loves their X3 and do not need a second one could lend me their code. It is limited to 300 people, so its on first come first serve basis. If you have the code, would you kindly help, and if not then perhaps refer to someone who can.

Is this only in China?
