My 370Z stock stereo (POS Bose) can't handle the line out from the X5 which is slightly weaker than the line out from the X3 I believe. Some car stereos can't handle the Vrms of these devices line out and are designed to use the weaker headphone out from most smartphones.

Just a caution, if it sounds terrible then try the headphone out.

I'm curious of trying out this experiemnt to make a "Fiio x3 with awesome battery life"... Sony mexico sell this portable-power battery packs, including one rated at 1000 mAh....  You can connect cellphones, ipads, iPods etc.

Don't know if it would work or not

there's the link to the product on sony México

Theres others better than that if you just want an external battery for on the go. I use: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005NGLTZQ/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=ianker-20&linkCode=as2&camp=217145&creative=399373&creativeASIN=B005NGLTZQ

If you're trying to boost your X3's life with something you might also keep in your pocket, maybe something like this?

If anything I'd probably use it with my phone. I've never really had charge issues with the X3, but I use 3 different daps if you count the phone. Any kind of reasonable use of my phone kills it before the end of the day, though.

I just got a new HTC M8 on which I get a good full work day of heavy use. But I have the Anker for emergency on the metro or weekend vacation type scenarios.

The Moto X certainly doesn't get that kind of life, just moderate use guarantees I don't last the day. At least I don't often use it for music, quite thankful for my Fiios
