  I find the X3 is not as detailed as I'd like, I'm using the E17 with it and I'm liking the sound but what headphone amp can I use that's more detailed than the E17 and affordable. 

 
The E12 is another good choice.  ALO The National, I'm using with it ATM, JDS Labs C5 is another that I have used with it in the past as well.

Anybody experience random freeze on 2.14b? Like every 15 minutes it will freeze a fter a song and it will still be turned on but the screen goes black. The only thing i can do is hard reset or pressing the power button for more then 10 seconds and i can hear the x3 'click' sound. I've turned off all sleep and idle shut down. Haven't experienced this in 2.1

Yes. It is a known issue with 2.14 beta. Unplugging the headphone and then re-plugging it sometimes get's it unstuck as well as resetting it as you've done.

No.  It's in the close beta group.

No, and please don't ask again. Beta firmware is for beta testers. If you want to test new beta releases, PM Joe and ask to join the beta testing team. If not, downgrade to stable firmware and be patient.

How powerful is X3 anyway? Is it possible to drive something like HD650 or AKG Q701 with X3 in DAC mode? Has anyone tried it?

Pretty sure it can.  Use the high gain settings.

I do have HD650 and ATH-A900X. After the beta firmware update, I can see 50-60% quality gain with ATH-A900X
But Somehow I don't like it with HD650. Tried my HD650 with Butterfly V2 and still don't like them. Maybe It is my issue or maybe I need to get a solid AMP and DAC. Is anyone suggest a good AMP and DAC around 250$ (even used is fine) to drive HD650?

After the upgrade of the firmware on the X3 with 2.14Beta and factory reset, I clearly see a day and night different with X3 and HD650. They sound better with Treble +4 and Bass +2 setting.
