Coax-out is digital out. The entire D/A process is bypassed.
Line-out is bypassing internal amp. No double amping is involved.

Wouldn't that mean a double amping, via internal E17 + external Tube amp ? I thought coax-out was bypassing the internal amp.

If X3 is supposed to be E17 that can play music, why its Bass Boost centered at 100Hz?
Isn't E17's Bass Boost much lower? I think  even E12 centered around 70Hz.
Such high Bass Boost will definitely muddy up the mids.

Also, is there a plan for X3 version that can be used as a DAC/Amp?
if you want a device like the X3 but with capabilities for use as a DAC with a computer. Then there is the E17

I already own E17, don't want to carry 2 devices with me, would prefer a universal one.

Not sure if there is a device that is a DAP, allows for amp line out, digital line out, and also digital input.

Sounds intersting though

Yes, that's the one. So did FIIO changed their mind and reverted to E17's Bass Boost, or was that post a mistake in the first place?

Pretty sure it is a mistaken.

I was thinking, would Coaxial out to an external DAC make a difference whether it was my Japanese DX100 or the Fiio X3? It does after all, bypass the DAP's internal DAC chip.

It shouldn't make any difference. However, there is the concern of jitter. But most devices these days have low enough jitter that it is unlikely to notice it audibly.
