I think you get him wrong, I understand it this way:

Now when it's sold just be few Hi-fi retailers, they dont have to care about EU limitations. If they expand to mass market electro shops(like Saturn in Germany), they will have to do some limitations. But Fiio is far from that.

Hmm... well, I'm not sure if the European legislation is different for small retailers than for mass-market. I would think that if it is being retailed in an EU member state, then the legislation would be compulsory, regardless of the scale of marketing / retailing of the product. But James will probably already know the facts, given that Fiio products are not new to the EU marketplace.

I don't mind the firmware being volume-capped, just so long as the hardware isn't volume-capped. My Cowon J3, for example, allows the user to choose where they want to say they live, so if they say they live outside Europe, they can still have English language (just one example) but they can avoid the firmware enforcing volume-capping. My J3 will go approximately 35% louder when I tell the firmware I live outside Europe.

btw, we plan to upgrade the UI in the coming soon, below is the new UI and the old UI.

Very glad to hear that the firmware is being finalized and updated! Just do not forget to add the new UI in the upper left corner of the logo FiiO, as well as the audio counter.
James, I want to know is whether the upgrade is support music formats? Do you have the ability to add support for the two formats?
1) Musepack (Lossy format)
2) WavPack (Lossless format)

Wow, I really like the UI so far!
The offical dealer for Germany isn't taking pre-orders right now, because they still don't have a final price for the X3.
Pff whatever, I'm on their reservation list :)

So far we have plan to support AIFF in the coming soon but we are not going to support every format because it make the operation quite unstable. compare with iPod which only support one format.

I know what you're getting at James - but to be fair, modern iPods support more than one ..... aac, mp3, alac, aiff and wav.

Do you know when dealers a little further out will be getting the X3 - specifically New Zealand?
