JamesFiio, I thought you said we should email support@fiio.net if we had any suggestions. Dont bother. They dont care and they have told me they wont be fixing anything at all.

We will release a list about bugs and our plan . anyway, we will try to provide a " true " gapless play just like RockBox.  also some other features.

anyway, new firmware will be released soon.

Your company's problem is that you are not considering any of the things I have listed as bugs except for the flac/64 gig support. English firmware and chinese firmware need to work differently. English users are used to one interface, chinese users are used to a different way of selecting their music. Cater to both, dont stubbornly tell me how the firmware works when im explaining to you why the way it works is incorrect or can be improved.

Totally understand what you are saying about no english speaking workers, though. I dont think they understood even my simple message.

I can understand your situation. but I can't agree with your attitude about this issues, anyway, we are working in this but I think people will give us fair appraise.  sometimes our staff can't promise something they can't confirm.

Do you throw tantrums like this every time something is not to your liking? Or is today special?

in a 24 hour period, your staff should be more than able to send an email to someone who DOES know the answer rather than reply in the negative without thinking. I havent worked in many professional environments but everywhere I've worked, the policy has been "if you dont know the answer, ask someone who does".

I wanted this player because it supports flac. But now i cant go out and buy a 64 gig card because I dont want to spend that money and find out that it doesnt work, so im using MP3 on this. I could have stuck to my phone and bought a USB dac instead.

Perhaps your employees should watch some videos on ipods, cowons, and some free software like Winamp, and see exactly how an american interface is designed. So far i have not seen a single "feature" suggestion go through. Its as if your entire company is working to fix a single issue at one time, and your company wont fix the glaring issues in your employee base that would enable you to actually make some progress.

Hire people who know english, even if they are from the states. Let someone familiar with US interface design work on the player's firmware. I know its not easy to modify it, but its not THAT difficult for someone who has been working on it from the beginning.

Are you out of your mind????   Don't recommend that FiiO  should model their user interface after a Cowon player.....their UI is not in the least bit intuitive. I say that as both a former and current Cowon owner.

hope your boss or you can answer any question in 24 hours to a chinese customer. and solve the problem in another 24 hours.  it is not the way to solve the problem and our engineer need time to fix the bugs or make it more stable or more suitable for everyone.

Good luck Shrimants, I can't blame our staff cause they are working hard to help our customer and this is not what they should be regard as.

My boss wouldnt handle chinese customers. He would forward them to to the chinese branch of our support. I'm well aware of how horrible the translation software is for japanese/chinese/korean/etc, which is why i kept my wording very simple. And im not asking you to solve the issue in 24 hours. I'm asking for a simple "we're working on it" rather than "thats not how it works". Yeah, i know thats not how it works. that is why i sent the email.

As for cowon interface, im just talking about the basic artist>album>tracks, all songs, and albums>tracks with proper sorting. Honestly i dont even care that you have tracks listed 11223344, but at least ignore the track number and list it completely alphabetically. i havent used any cowon stuff.

Well, you do have a point that FiiO and its customers might benefit from some English-speaking support personnel. If they have resources for that. They don't seem a big company, and maybe their products are such a good value because they're based in China. Not everyone would be willing to pay, say, extra $50 to get native-speaking support with their X3.
And you just might overestimate the amount of attention your particular issue with the DAP deserves. Who knows, maybe you're the only one so far who think it's a problem.

If you ignore track numbers and just sort alphabetically, the songs will still not be in the right order.

And if you haven't even used a Cowon, then you really shouldn't be suggesting them as a model for interface.

Sorting alphabetically makes more sense because you know the name of the song you are looking for. People don't memorize track numbers.

And perhaps honcho you should read through this thread.

This deviceplays fantastic and everything hardware is great. The UI is my major complaint and I think FLAC and 64 gig card support will be fixed soon.

Oh really?  So what if you want to listen to an album in the proper sequence?

Here's a constructive suggestion....if you are talking about a multi-disc album, then tag them and filename them differently. instead of 1234, 1234, 1234, use 101 102 103 104, 201 202 203 204, 301 302 303 304.

And I have read this thread from the start, and I am a supporter of FiiO's endeavors, having bought several of their previous products.

Sorry for the spelling, I'm on my phone.

I'm not talking about multiple discs album. I'm talking about multiple albums by the same artist. Either the tracks should be grouped by album in track order, or they should be in grouped and alphabetical. The x3 doesn't do either. It groups all the track 1, then all the track 2, etc.

Fiios hardware is something I'll always recommend. They are fantastic. Its the x3 I can't recommend because the basic UI "habits" we have here are completely missing or not implemented on this device. I have complaints about firmware only and I continue to recommend Fiios amps and DAC's to those who are looking for advice.

One of the rename presets in Foobar2000 does 1.01 1.02 etc. Don't know how would X3 supports this but shouldn't be to hard to change it to 101 102 etc.
