@jamesfiio

Possible to organize a worklog
-compile the bugs into a list
(wad is being fixed and not)
-what's new and fix in the next update
-wad are e possible add on features implementation in the future

at least end users get to know the progression

sure we will , and we are working in the stability of these new features.  and we have asked our fans test the NOKIA N8, it took about 5 seconds to update 10 sound tracks, quite fast and we will try to increase the update speed in X3 too.

there are some main issues people complained about

1, some sound track are missing cause by the limit of the total quantity of the folders at the same level .  this already fixed in the new  firmware which should be release soon.

2, the limit of gapless playback, will be fixed in the next version after 45 days.

3, the disk format of TF card , the exFAT or NTFS may cause some bugs, which should be fixed by added a new feature so people can format the TF card in X3 to make sure the format is correct.

this feature should be added in next version.

4, there are some small distortion in the one channel when play ogg music , still working in this but can't confirm when so far.

And as I known, there are not any other DAP which can compete with us in every detail. and please share with me if there are. also remember I am here and listening to what people need and what people complained about.

All I can do is to thank you for your dedication.

Thankyou for the prompt confirmation. Would you like the player for investigation? At the moment I am asked to return it to Amazon

please email to support@fiio.net, and tell our staff your situation in case I forget to ask whether our QC and R/D need the defective one to find out what happen,

but it is the first report and I believe it is a very very tiny possibility cause we already sold out more than 13K X3.

This is the third time I have asked you.

Is it true that the player can't index and add files to the database when the file structure is more than two folders deep?

1) Is that true?
2) If there are limitations, what exactly are they?
3) If it's true, is a fix planned?

Very simple questions.  When I don't get an answer it seems like you are avoiding acknowledging a non-trivial design flaw.

I do not feel like buying the player so I can test it to see if it will or will not work.  I think the owner of the company should be able to provide such information.

If not, what is this thread for?  So far it is the X3 apologist/fanboy thread.

Try sending James a private message - perhaps he will respond to a direct query.

I am waiting 3 years for colorfly to fix the firmware of the ck4. Teclast never really removed any important bug on the T51. Cowons update rythm is slower than yours....

The last Colorfly C4 release was a year ago and they never released gapless (no library). I sold mine.

I still have mine, because I want to give it a second try with a mod. I still have to find time for that project.
Also I hope that there will be someone who puts rockbox on it.

I did not use it for some time now...

not.

only limitations for the total folder, should be not more than 256 right now.

the new firmware already fix this bugs.

It's a shame, as it is (to my eyes) the most attractive DAP on the market.
But the UI is incredibly primitive and lacking functionality, and the amp section is also primitive (no bi-polar power supply so it has huge electrolytic caps in the outputs, a big no no, which affects the sound - I am fairly sure some iBasso amps still do this also) and the amp section is underpowered for my needs.
But then so is the X3, I use an E12 with mine - and the X3/E12 combo is no larger than the C4.
