Well, at least until the iBasso DX50 comes out in a few days. Virtually the same price point and potentially better sounding than the FiiO X3, but that will be completely subjective. Still, I am happy with my X3's sound quality, I hadn't heard about the DX50 at the time I purchased my FiiO, and to be honest even if i had, I would probably still have bought the X3, as it's available from a local dealer with all the support that entails.
I do not have a iBasso dealer in my area, and neither does 99% of the rest of the world either. it would appear. I'm not really keen on buying expensive electronics sight unseen sound unheard, online from overseas companies purely for the reasons that if you need service either in or out of warranty you have to go through the hassle and considerable cost of shipping the product back to the manufacturer, and if you simply don't like it, the same applies. I am not sure about other people here who purchased an X3 from a dealer, but my dealer told me to return the unit to him if it needs repair and he will take care of getting it to and from FiiO whiles it's under warranty and charge me or for the cost of shipping one way if the repair is non-warranty. That alone is a major factor in deciding which product to choose for me.
I don't think there is a dap with this form factor at this price which can produce as good the hi-res sound in the market.
