Sorry I am not sure when but it did take time for our agents to receive the X3 and delivery to B&H and lunch their shop. maybe it will take 2 weeks.

But that aside, don't take the issue to one side. Yes, C3 offers better clarity and upper end detail. But in contrast, X3 offers better bass hit, speed and lower-end texture / detail too. What I have said is that if you prefer clarity over other aspects of the sound, you will probably prefer C3. But sound is more than just clarity, and of course we all have to decide what is more important to us personally.
 
As for bugs - I don't think C3 has less bugs in its days. It certainly has its own share of problem but it is also a lot longer in the market for ColorFly to iron out most of the problem and it is a much simplier device to begin with. In comparison, FiiO has been much more active in firmware development than any other Chinese DAP maker that I know of. Where else does you see a manufacturer releasing bugfix in monthly (and sometime weekly) basis?

I'm newbie here. Need advice.
 
I'm more interested in Fiio X3 because it supports more sound formats than Colofly C3.
However I prefer music player with no so much emphasis on bass but more focus on detail with clarity.
Will external amp. such as JDS Lab C5, Fiio E12 (just to name a few) help to improve X3 in this areas?

If you really want the best clarity, I'll say O2 is my top choice. C5 is great with detail as well but a bit more forward.

Which then makes me ask what you will do on the go when you aren't going to bring an O2 with you? 
 
X3+O2 makes for a good travel setup or movable at home setup so you can use it at home and move it to the office every day easilly and have your music. But if you are trying to use it like a regular DAP, meaning by itself most of the time, the O2 then won't be there strapped to it. Mainly because the O2 is quite big(even the mini variants) and awkward to strap. (really really awkward)

The truth is I'll try to avoid using a demanding headphone / IEM as much as I can on-the-go, so I can live with minimum setup. If that's not the case, I'll try to bring the best smallest amp I can, that means either the iBasso T5 or the Leckerton UHA-4. I usually reserve full size portable amp when I am moving around in the house.
 
I have seen people bringing their O2 strapped to iPod everywhere they go, so it is a matter of choice.

O2 is really big for 'portable' life.
 
What portable means to me is something like Arrow, Pico Slim, Apex Glacier etc. Slim products, when you strap it to your dap you can still put them in your pocket.

Well I guess that does make sense. The O2 imo is just not ergonomic enough with its input and outputs to be easy and ergonomic to use, but this is of course oem made O2's, you can of course wire and make ports whereever you want with a personal O2.

FWIW I will be comparing my Colorfly C4 to the Fiio X3 when it arrives.
Reading reviews on the X3, I don't see a clear issue with its sonic signature. It is simply different from some others.
Different does not imply inferior, and in fact what I have heard described matches up well with my personal preferences.
Since I can't try out the X3 in the store, I bought one
I tried the AK100 but it failed badly trying to drive my Orthos.
