sure we will test the firmware before we release it. our QC team have 15 person includes 5 engineer.
also we will invite some user to help us test the firmware before trail production.
about the UI, it is very simple. not picture, video play, record, radio so we can focus on audio

Thank you. I've never been disappointed by ANY FiiO product I've purchased. I really doubt I'll be disappointed with the player.

Please do focus only on audio...and nothing else, but make it as good as you can, not like T51 or Dx100.......we want to have the best experience In both Sq and software...go Fiio..:D.

I don't get your point CSM. If you are not an audiophile or you don't prioritize audio quality on the go then good for you. This player is meant to appeal to that very market and I don't think it's wrong to ask for a decent UI with excellent sound quality.

If sound quality meant everything to you, then you wouldn't give a monkeys about UI.

lol when the UI sucks so bad and you feel like throwing it at a glass window what is even the point of getting a DAP. How to navigate through your audiophile quality song bank with a super crappy and laggy UI? SQ is numero uno priority, but ignoring the importance of good UI for a DAP with a screen is pure stupid.

A major reason why UI is so overlooked in audiophile daps is because the manufacturers believe that SQ is the only thing that is important. The key word in the last sentence is ONLY. So they skimp on the interface, on the reliability, so much so that sometimes it's pot luck if the DAP will turn on or not (a few hifimans I've come across). Why skimp??- cos all you folks seem to want is SQ, but when it comes down to actually using the player everyone starts complaining about factors such as UI / card storage / battery / ergonomics / and all the other deficiencies regarding factors that are inherently important to the very concept of a DAP.

That's why I say, yes, SQ is the most important thing but no where close to the only important thing. There are plenty of other factors.

Yeah of course I agree with you on this CSM. But come on who in their right mind only cares about the audio quality? Audio is my number one requirement yes, but at least a basic and bug-free UI is very important to me. Otherwise it kills that very experience of listening to music when I want to whip the damn DAP out the window lol. Of course I don't need those extra frills you get on an ipod, I just need to get to the point and have various options to access my music in a stress free manner.

I mean I am making some compromises with my DX100 and Studio V right now for the Audio quality. That doesn't mean I'm not POD about the crumby UIs on them. It is unacceptable to be honest but until a player comes out with the sound quality and proper UI I really don't have many alternatives (at least they are slowly improving). I won't be carrying around a 3 piece rig to cover the ipods shortcoming (mediocre sound).

Thanks to everyone, I will listening to all you guys and make sure we can make a decent DAP to you. so don't worry about it. if there are anything we can't satisfy you, it is not because we don't know or we don't want, it will be only because

out of our ability. and now the hardware design and the ID is froze, so we can focus on the UI and the firmware, especially the bugs.

About the SQ and other thing about the DAP, it is quite simple to us, you can think X3 is in the middle of some HiFi MP3 and iPod. that is the product position to all our amps, DACs, and DAPs, We believe this market is more suitable to FiiO

I believe that is why we can success in the past years.

This sounds VERY promising! Thank you for listening to customers as you develop this product. I have no interest in video, etc...just a solid, well thought out dedicated audio player. The more I read here the more excited I am getting for this project. Go for it Fiio! You are definitely on track for an awesome product.

I don't think Vietnam is too far away...tell you what, I'll trade you an island or two for the chance to test the X3
