Maybe I just don't get what it takes a DAP to be called "audiophile" I thought it was just about the SQ, the number of supported formats, lots of storage and beeing able to drive even more demanding headphones/IEMs properly.

FiiO states it's not going to be an audiophile dap, but I'll bet we'll all be pleasantly surprised. Especially at the price point it's being released at. I think they just don't want us to expect the moon & stars,...I like how they work.

From what they've said in this thread it's not an audiophile based player. But, from past experience with their amps, I think we'll have no complaints. I am disappointed about the May/June release schedule. But, sadly, we have no control over that.
