I found the Denon very comfortable, but didn't like the flat sound quality. I don't like much from Audeze, even ignoring the weight. I haven't heard the LCDs or 5 yet though, definitely some gaps in my Audeze listening.I also like the HE1000V2. Really comfortabel, with nice sound stage an good sound quality. Just what I was looking for.
If only the Denon was more comfortabel, it would stay with me.
I also have been looking at the Audeze but they are so heavy. Pads not replaceable and pricey as well. At least the ones I like and would be able to pay.

I did like the Denon very much actually. But it was for me bit small.
So I checked the Hifiman and so far it is the best choice.

Yep, everyone has their own tastes in what they like - some people love the HD600/HD800S, some people love the Denons, some people love the Sony XM series or Audeze LCD-X. That's what makes this hobby cool, no one can agree on anything haha.I did like the Denon very much actually. But it was for me bit small.

Always been intrigued by the HD6 series. Been so close to getting some but always never gotten round to o it. Either spontaneous purchases instead (HD700) which I find very very good. Bit of foam and pad rolling and they play wonderfully, especially as noone likes them and they are so cheap. Kudos to the hater train . Don't have a shop to audition gear, would the 660s2 be viable? From reviews I don't think the others in the series will make me happy.
Did senn build the 660s2 into a more consumer 700?
I wish senn would do another 7 series

I really liked the 700 actually. Same drivers as one of the 600s, I forget which one. The 660s2 is actually the only 600 series I've heard that I liked. You may enjoy it immensely if you like the 700.Always been intrigued by the HD6 series. Been so close to getting some but always never gotten round to o it. Probably will, but could I justify it? So hard to say from researchI really liked the 700 actually. Same drivers as one of the 600s, I forget which one. The 660s2 is actually the only 600 series I've heard that I liked. You may enjoy it immensely if you like the 700.
You can find them use for around $200-250, I'd say it's worth it.Probably will, but could I justify it? So hard to say from research
Difficult or not, that's very good-looking. Jealous of your workshop. My Sash Tres SE is finally painted and ready for assemblyGetting closer...

I've slowly been building my tool collection and skills collection over the years. Finally at a point where I can build stuff like this and get pretty consistent results.
Ferrum stack vs Cayin stack
They can be pretty cool, but a detachable cable mod is almost a requirement in my book. The fit can either be good or super weird too, just depends on your head shape and the ear pads. Some of them sound excellent though. I'm sure more people can chime in with their thoughts.thoughts on Grados?

I've heard two Grado headphones, the 325x and the Hemp. I liked the 325x - it had a punchy and energetic sound and sounded really good on a power metal track. The Hemp did not do well on that same track, and I didn't like the sound on a second demo either. It sounded muddy and congested to me with a bloated lower midrange and not enough treble. Too bad, as I had thought of picking one up for the meme factor 420, but I didn't get high off of the sound.
The fit of all Grados with the stock pads is a bit odd. They aren't uncomfortable, at least initially, but they're always squashing my ears so I suspect they'd become uncomfortable after a while. I have highly protruding ears though.

Wonderful sound, often phenomenal for the money- but very questionable comfort and no closed-back options make them a non-starter for me these days.thoughts on Grados?
That said, my first “audiophile headphone” was a pair of Grado SR-60s that were mind-blowingly good for the price.
