Why not 87 inches ? I have 65 inch TV and it's too small. I am being serious.

It's a valid question.  The room we'll be in is large, but it's a rectangle and an 80" is plenty.  Perhaps more importantly, it's an older home and the wife has got carpenters and painters in and I get 72" of width in the new built-ins...good for the 80" and that's about it.  I'm pretty keen on a 75" based on the store visits I've made and the units I'm looking at (pretty focused on a Sony or a Samsung at this point).

For anyone else looking...I was crushed to learn that my Sharp Aquos, of which I have 3 at the moment but 1080p units, have gone to seed with their 4K offerings.  Tons of quality complaints.  I used to be a Sony guy some years back but they went to crap around 2000 or so and after replacing a couple of units due to them going bad too shortly after purchase, I switched to Sharp and didn't look back.  Now apparently Sharp's relatively new manufacturing plant for the 4K stuff is putting out garbage.  Bummer.

Software/GUI on the Samsungs is not all that great from what I've read and the reviews and while Sony is proud of their stuff as usual, they upscale the 1080p signals very well and that's where most of the content is and will be for a few years.  Meh...

It depends on viewing distance and personal preference. I sit ~9 feet from a 42" screen and I wouldn't want anything larger. For me, a 65" TV is great when you're 15' away but lacking when you're 20' back from the screen.

Somewhere online is a grid that shows optimal distance from 60 inch tv with 1080p signal is 10 feet. You are pretty far away. I used to be 13 feet from my 60 inch, then moved to 10ft and could not believe what I was missing!

Careful with these guys, I thought the name sounded like one of the bait and switch operations, reseller ratings confirms they are not the greatest.

I really like the guessing contests to figure out "What is it?" from the clues!  As much fun as getting the item!

Here are my guesses for 1 and 3:
1. Shure SRH440
3. Koss ESP950
Though no. 3 sound like a not so good deal because of only 1 year warranty instead of the lifetime warranty.

Looking to score a big honking 4K HD TV.  Think 65"+ (no more the 75-80").  Deals Team...lemme know if you see something good out there in the U.S.  Thanks!

There is still no better picture than a Panasonic ZT60 and VT60 1080p Plasma. I buy and sell TV's and I have my choice of just about anything out there. I have a 65" ZT60 and haven't found anything yet to make my want to give it up. You can't do better.

BTW, I have another one for sale. I'm in Oregon if anyone is interested. LOL.
