The Deals DISCUSSION Thread (READ THE FIRST POST!!!)

I was lucky enough to score a pair of the UE9000s for $150 straight from Logitech, but I'm really hoping for some kind of great deal on some really good IEMs. I'm betting on some serious Westone deals since they have replaced their entire line up. Especially the W4.

Straight off the bat I saw decent deals on the M-Audio BX8, Focal CMS 65, and Alesis M1 520. And I'm barely trying to look for deals, surely you'd be able to find more if you were really interested in finding a pair of active monitors....

KILLER deals to be had here. Does anyone know how long this sale will be going on?

Nope, just some guy who said he had a "Friend" who worked in the industry and said that the sale was possible. On amazon i believe.
I was the one who mentioned the UE 900. My friend works for one of the electronic shops in Toronto. He mentioned to me that he knows the owner was in touch with Logitech regarding the UE 900 and some other models. He said that his boss was offered a limited quantity by Logitech and they tried to negotiate it. At this point NCIX already listed the UE 900 for $199.99. The feeling was that something is going on with UE as in Australia and in the UK they were discounted and no longer available on the Logitech website. I checked it out and it was true. He also mentioned to me that Amazon USA is low on stock and they don't know what's up with that. It seems like Logitech had some stock to clear and they were looking to unload it to the highest bidder. At this point I asked him if it's worth buying and he said, "buy, don't open it and return if the price comes down". I posted that there is a rumour that the price might go to $109 based on what I was told. I emphasized that it's a rumour from my friend, so people should take it with a grain of salt. Sure enough, a few hours later NCIX came with the second Logitech deal; $190 shipping directly from Logitech, no returns, exchange only or replacement. I guess this the stock that my friend was talking about, I am just guessing as no one really knows. When I called him yesterday he assumed that Logitech had a small stock of 50+ pieces roughly and since Amazon US is pretty dry it seems like they didn't want to let buyers sell it less than the already good price that was offered by NCIX.
Disclaimer: this info was provided to me as a best of knowledge of a friend of mine. I am not affiliated with any retailer nor website.
I hope this clarifies what went down. 1 head-fi member PM'ed me and asked me about that, I suggested him what I was told: you can order and always return if unopened, but mind you there will be shipping cost to and from and also maybe duty and sales tax.... So at the end of the day, your money, your call.

Thanks for the information. Seems unlikely the $109 UE900 deal is going to happen from what I can see. Who knows? Seems like a long shot, though.

Do you know if the original NCIX UE900 stock qualifies for return? Not the ones sold through NCIX and shipped directly from Logitech, but the ones from NCIX's own stock?

If so, it might have been worth the extra $10, for those who paid the higher price ($200 NCIX stock vs $190 Logitech stock), for a return option in case something is not right with the phones.

If I were a mod I rather warn and then ban the people who keeps on rapid-fire reporting every single post that doesnt fit to the EXACT SPECIFICATIONS as the thread intended. These nazi-style people are really really annoying and make it tough for everyone.

To these nazis: ARE YOU HAPPY NOW???

Yeah, it wasn't the mods, they were just doing their jobs, it's the jerk-faces spamming the mods.

I am really not familiar with NCIX and their return policy. I would contact them and ask.
Since the UE 900 stock is really low I don't think we will see a fire sale...maybe during Boxing Day. I have a feeling it's going the TF10 route... Limited availability with price all over the place.

Went to best buy today and decided to pull the trigger on the dragonfly dac, was skeptical about how well it would perform. Plugged and and started listening with my he-400 and this is definitely my goto dac/amp now. Funny how like more than a few of the magnolia guys there didn't know it was only $100.

I guess those who spamming reporting the deal thread is powerless here as he can't report deal discussion. Or he will report something about non-deal discussion? Anyway, they must be happy.
