Those are expensive tubes

Agreed. I don't know much about tubes to begin with, other than that I like how they sound and I like some over others, so wasn't too sure if these are a deal or not (maybe someone who knows about tubes can chime in?), but they look good.

That's right on the new dragonfly's price point...I'm assuming their biggest competitor.  Damn this thread is killing me...

Yep. Tha'ts exactly what I thought when I read cripple1's post. Could be to compete with the Dragonfly.

Maybe HRT Microstreamer will reduce price to compete too. Go USB DAC price war!

I'm going to be selling my Microstreamer soon for less than $150.  It's really picky compared to the other USB DAC's and doesn't work right with my work computer (though it works perfectly fine at home).  Reading through the feedback thread, seems it's a common issue, and not the device malfunctioning.

I don't have the time or inclination to go through a bunch of fiddly tweaking to get it working so I'm just selling it.  If anyone is interested, lemme know.
I already grabbed a new D3 (for $130), which works much better.

EDIT - To be clear, the HRT is supposed to sound better, which is why I took a chance on it over the D3 originally.  Assuming it works on your comp, it's likely the better choice (tho I never did compare back to back).

Some HRT deals from Music Direct. Not familiar with the going rate... so dunno if it's much of a deal?

Thoughts on AKG 712 pro for 350$ amazon? Think I will do any better on those?

I bought a like-new used pair a couple of months ago for $310 and felt pleased with the deal.  So just $40 more for a REALLY new pair is a good deal in my opinion.

I think I will jump on it then.... I just wanted a second opinion before I dished that out.... I also plan on getting an amp/DAC for it at some point. Trying not to break my wallet any more then I "have" to
