I bought them and yes they are the new version.

illram - did you ever contact HiFiMAN to query regarding warranty from this seller? I do not need them... but tempted to replace my 400i with those...

Too bad you missed them last week for $400 at Massdrop and B&H. Still a decent price though.

I hemmed and hawed about getting them on MD at $399, but I didn't pull the trigger. I've also never ordered anything over $50 from Massdrop, so there was that, too....

I did not, someone on reddit did and said they confirmed the warranty did apply but I got the walmart additional warranty anyway. I am also replacing a 400i!

Actually, what I read on reddit is the hifiman will fix them, but at the off warranty price. This is a great deal if you are willing to take a chance.

If Hifiman refuses, I'd imagine Walmarts protection plan would kick in.

Hifiman will not refuse to fix them, they will just charge you. I suppose you could say they are refusing to fix them for free under warranty. The Walmart protection plan only kicks in after the warranty expires, so theoretically the walmart plan should pay for a repair, but you would have to wait until the 1 year hifiman warranty expired.

However there is no warranty despite what the seller says. In my experience, Walmart would take care of you. Probably ban the 3rd party seller in the process.

Honestly, this is the best deal for a 560 at any price when bought with the 3 year plan. Even better than authorized dealers at the same price. Hifiman is notorious for terrible QC. Chances are you'll need to fix it within 3 years. A 560 with 3 year protection coverage for $440 is a fantastic deal.

One could argue that there is no hifiman warranty in the first place, so technically it's expired, and the walmart protection plan should kick in right away. All depends on the fine print I guess.
