That wouldn't have worked for me -- I was specifically looking for 2.5mm balanced, not 3.5mm single-ended.

Planar, electret, electrostatic, balanced armature + dynamic driver hybrid (2 drivers), or other hybrid types ? Not interested in mega multi-balanced armatures/dynamic hybrids (ex: 3-4-5-6 to 13, etc drivers)
 
AliBaba wholesale has had a planar knock-off of Audeze LCD-type listed for years from different suppliers for just a couple of dollars, really inexpensive but bulk quantity required to buy wholesale.

I know one called the Bravo Sharkk. I think it's a rebrand of another headphone. I haven't heard it, but with lots of uhh complaints, I wouldn't recommend it. Hybrid dynamic and electret, though they claim to be Hybrid electrostatic. Their slogan is "10x Better Sound Quality". Up to interpretation really.

Familiar with Bravo & other 3 or 4 rebadged sellers of that technology, but I will pass on those. A very far opposite of the great oBravo brand !
 
Sony's 70 mm ALCP driver is nice.
 
Gonna keep digging on Ali while the sale is up, maybe there is something fitting my description.
 
Some very few wholesale AliBaba sellers sell single units & samples too; sometimes the price is good, often it is way too much per single piece, especially when the bulk-buy quantity is peanuts - a couple of dollars per unit wholesale. I think for businesses buying on Baba, the sample price is then refunded in the bulk order. Some sellers' adds displayed something like "Single Pieces available to buy", or worded otherwise, but lately haven't seen that in adds.
 
Back to searching for AliExpress deals, I think sale ends maybe Thursday, but not sure or what time it ends on what day.

I'm currently using the HD700 version, and don't currently have another to compare against.  It is a bit short for what many would prefer, and might feel a bit bulky vs stock cable, but I haven't found any issues with it so far, and the price is surprising.
