Bought these for my 13 year old son several months ago. Never listened to them myself but I was impressed with build for the price, he loves them, and they still look new after 3 months when typically I'm getting out glue, soldering iron and duct tape after 2 months of his gentle use ...

Were there actual difference between the old Wx and the new Wx0 lineup? I've always thought they were just a shell + MMCX update but still uses the same driver(s).

Well, the box looks like the newer Westone boxes.
 

 
Even Westone's website still shows the old UM3X box.

AKG K545 Recertified Directly from Harman $98.88
 
Includes case and both universal (android) and apple cables/microphone and 1/4" adapter
 
These are basically K550s designed to look less dorky (smaller) for use as a portable phone.
 
I did not think they sounded quite as good as the K550s,   Harman refurbs have full original warranty.
