Nope. I've got friends and family that are in that business but I've never done any producing or recording aside from some Beatles songs me and my friends covered in middle school haha.
 
Just trying to understand your complaint because I think its intriguing. I don't claim to be an expert on spotting these things but for me, I rarely if ever notice any kind of resonance in my open cans (DT880, HD600, K712) though I know it technically exists in all headphones. I do tend to notice a fair amount of it in my closed cans.

I've just finished listening to my  LD MK III with 6SL7/6SN7 adapter and DT880 600 ohms and i'm  surprised how big is the soundstage and the BASS is really good.

I've never really noticed a difference in reverb (I actually think the term "decay" applies better here) between the lower end of the spectrum and the upper end on the DT880. I have noticed a slight lack of texture and impact, though this could simply be because the driver is steadily losing control as the frequency drops. It could be that I'm not particularly sensitive to the nature of decay, or else that the music I listen to doesn't really expose a weakness.
 
I can say that the bass is probably the weakest part of the spectrum from a strictly technical standpoint. Open dynamics from that era had a lot of trouble producing anything below the resonant frequency of the driver, and the effect of this is pretty easy to spot in climbing THD figures below about 100 Hz for a lot of the popular open back contenders of the era (HD6x0, DT880). This might well manifest itself in various audible ways.

Actually, it might be my particular unit.  It sounds like some extra reverb effect was applied to bass sounds/instruments.
I'll try another DT880-600.

If its low bass distortion its probably a hair. Use tape or a lint roller to get all of the hairs off of the ear pads and the pad covering the driver. Sometimes I have to take the earpad off to get all the hairs but I've never had to open it all the way up. Not sure if that's what you're experiencing but I've had that problem with my DT880's and DT770's quite a bit. Beyers seem particularly susceptible to it but its an easy fix.

Thanks but I didn't find any.  I'm returning that one and now scored a used 880-600.  This sound I'm much happier with.

Yes comparing the dt880 and hd800..I was surprised how dt880 well did...against the hd800 considering their price difference...and of course hd800 being the soundstage king aside from k1000...

I've mentioned it in this thread before, and I'll say it again. It's astounding how industriously hair can burrow itself underneath the foam inserts on the DT880. I took the foam bits out so I could attack them more efficiently with a lint roller, only to find strands of hair on top of the felt strip glued over the driver. It would be a bit more trouble for the hair to actually get through that felt, but I know that it's possible as I've read several cases where owners managed to cure buzzing and other artifacts by removing hairs from the surface of the driver itself.

Exact combo I'll have soon. I've had the Modi for a few weeks already hooked up to a vintage Pioneer SX-880 receiver, and just got my notification today that my Asgard 2 shipped. If I'm lucky, it'll arrive before the weekend. Looking forward to hearing my DT880 600's on the new setup.
