At least the guys at Flare learned for their follow up (non KS) project - have you seen the Flares Pro? Hands down the best looking packaging (and best unboxing experience) I've come across. They sound pretty impressive, too. Definitely a major step above the R2A sonically, and that is saying something.

I know a few people commented about them a while ago on the thread, but considering you get a great sounding Bluetooth module thrown in, they are a serious contender for the bang for your buck crown in the sub $500 iem market at the moment. Would love to write up a review on the set I bought at Canjam London, but I can't get them out of my girlfriend's ears long enough to do one!
I did indeed see the package for the Flares Pro! Frankly, I just want the box, don't even have to gimme the earphones to try :p. Every IEM costing over $400 should be packaged like that. All of them. If they're good, then they came in a box worthy of their greatness; if they aren't that good, at least they came in a really nice box :D

You know someone is a serious audiophile when they bring their own headphone with DAC/AMP SETUP to a training computer just to listen to voice talking instructions for new employees.

It's basically a voice talking about workplace environment and OSHA and other things that new employees have to listen to on computers.

But this guy went above and beyond and said he didn't like the provided headphones and brought his own equipment. :p

There is no music in these training sessions... At all LOL

So I've now had a chance to try out my new Liberty+ wireless earphones. Got to say I'm fairly impressed with these, simple enough to pair with my phone, work nicely turning themselves on and off automatically from the case, not had a long listen in one go yet to try battery life out.

Soundwise I don't think they're that bad, only really got TA products to compare them with and I'd put them around the same level as their Vyrus 2 with a decent bass response and clear highs. Mids not as forward as I prefer, but still present, so I guess that's a V shaped profile? (I'm new to this description stuff, you can probably tell).

Sat at my desk at work to give them a test on walking round the office and battery life, hopefully they'll get near the 3 hours they claim.

Edit: Just got the low battery warning about 3 hours after my original post, so battery claim about right (I had been listening for a bit before posting).

Yeah, you've got that right; I peg it with a v-shaped sound signature as well. Very heavy on the bass quantity end and a little lacking in the mids, but like you said, the quality of the sound overall is pretty decent. I dunno why I've got this weird issue with mine disconnecting after an extended period (not from a dead battery), but I'm not entirely sure it's due to the Liberty+ (though I suspect that more than my device). My iPod can only go up to iOS 9, but I have no such disconnect issues on my Bragi The Headphone.
The ergonomics are also not fitting to my taste. It's the the silicone gripfit jackets, but just the overall size of the thing. I switched to Spinfits which gives the Liberty+ cleaner lows and highs (just generally more well-defined frequency response) IMO, but it's just how much these things stick out of my ears compared to the Bragi. Basically, the entirety of the non-gripfit jacket section is how much more the Liberty+ sticks out of my ears compared to the Bragi, which is sleek and barely sticks out of my concha at all. Liberty+ doesn't provide for extended comfortable wear with a beanie on while The Headphone does great in that respect. Liberty+ undoubtedly sounds better than The Headphone; no competition there.....well, unless we're also counting transparency mode. Because by god does the transparency mode on the Liberty+ sound bad. High gain and sensitive mic, which wouldn't be so much of a problem if it didn't sound so horrible. Snapping your fingers shouldn't sound like a wet pop; and yet, that's exactly what the Liberty+ transparency mode sounds like.

In maybe 4 more months or so, I'll have another set of totally wireless IEMs to check out: the EOZ Air. Good time for a quick totally wireless IEM shootout when that day comes. And actually, if both KS campaigns I'm on deliver roughly on the proposed timeline, I'll have an exciting totally wireless full-size headphone too: the ORA GrapheneQ headphone. Theoretically, my wireless audio comparison would consist of the following in a few months:
- ORA GrapheneQ: hopefully the best sounding, being a comparatively pricey full-size headphone and all that
- Liberty+: best in wireless sound quality I've got on hand at present. Hasn't earned many points on ergonomics and transparency :frowning2:. But the batter case looks and feels really nice :D
- EOZ Air: perhaps will challenge or surpass the Liberty+ on all fronts? While looking sexier? :p
- Bragi The Headphone: stupid name, minimalist functionality, but damn does it perform like a champ. Super comfortable, 5ish hour battery life, volume control, transparency mode, and acceptable sound quality for day-to-day commuting
- Trinity Audio Phantom Air: worthy of its name, still nowhere to be seen :rage:

Hey all, I want to share a neat story.

One of my coworkers used to have a huge escort addiction even though he's married. He went to a therapist and they couldn't help him. He's gotten hooked into audio hobby ever since I let him listen to my ifi Black Label DSD and my Empire Ears Athena.

He has since devoted his hobby money instead of hiring escorts/prostitutes into buying headphones and portable AMPs for at home and work listening. His wife came by the other day and got me some cool gifts for getting rid of his previous addiction that his therapist couldn't, she's a lot happier knowing he's home every night.

Except she's might not realize her husband might fall in love with his headphones more than her :p
dun dun dun!!!

I just got my tracking number for the Liberty+ but may be selling them to a friend as he's in need of Bluetooth earphones. I too am waiting for the EOZ's.

As long as he doesn't need it with transparency :p. I don't think I've read too many comments about disconnecting in the same manner that I've been seeing so probably just an isolated incident for me.

Super story @JaeYoon. Hope it works out well for both of them. The audio habit can also be darn addictive.
