I'm wondering if there's difference between the original balanced LO output and the extra LO port by RWAK240+, does it worth the money? How does the sound signature change?

Use the "Search this thread" button at the top for RWAK240+ and you'll see many posts about this model and I'm sure some would tell you the difference between the software implemented LO by AK vs Vinnie's true LO.

Thank you! I tried but almost all posts are about trading, and the '+' symbol seems neglected. Adding LO doesn't help either.

Trading? I was referring to "Search this Thread" magnifying glass button below the thread title, not "Search Forums, Articles, Reviews and more!".

In a nutshell, yes the RWAK240+ LO (balanced in my case) is VERY different from the normal headphone LO.

Vinnie has tech descriptions on his website but subjectively for playback in a high-end home system, RWAK240+ LO makes the player somewhat usable while the normal LO not at all.

I'm using the lo of my AK240 to a woo wa6 amp for my th900... Sounds good, but I don't think it sounds as good as it should. I need more time with it, plus I'm waiting on different tubes, but I've been meaning to send my 240 to Vinnie for that mod... I guess now I really should.

Just today I dropped my AK240 in the mail to Vinnie for the RWAK240+ mod.  It's strange to drop something that pricey in the mail and send it off.  He's great with communication, though and with a turnaround time of about two weeks, I'm already excited to see what the sound improvements will be when I introduce it back into my rig.  I opted for the SE line-out.

For pretty much the cost of the AK240 dock, you can get a Teac UD-301 dual channel desktop DAC with true balanced out for $300 with the current rebate promotion. Buy from Crutchfield and you have 60 days to decide if you like it or not.

Looks pretty nice. I'm looking for a desktop dac. I was looking at arcam irdac. I believe these both have burr-brown dacs. I've never heard them, but from what I've read I'd like them, warm signature.

What's best way to hook it up to AK240? Coax put?

Yeah, I think you just need a toslink to mini optical cable and you can go all the way up to 96/32 but not sure about DSD files. I just have mine connected via USB to my Mac.
