Welcome to the club. You're wallet stings for a while but just about the time your 240 is completely burned in, you'll forget about the expense and revel in audio nirvana.

In the Fujiya Spring festival 1 1/2 weeks back, one of the exhibitors commented that majority of the attendees were carrying either an AK240 or NW-ZX1. It seems if anyone is complaining about the price of  the AK240, looks like the folks in Tokyo don't seem to be! I don't think I've seen so many AK240s in one place. Not surprisingly a lot of cable makers who were exhibiting anticipated that and had 2.5mm TRRS terminated balanced demo cables for show attendees to try.

Even at Jaben Singapore, AK240 is not an uncommon sight.

Well I am still appalled about the price. But I sold sold my ZX1, which sounded great with my SE5, but not my NT6. I have the Hugo for home use, and the Tera for true on the go. I wanted a DAP sounding as good as 901 and ergonomic as ZX1. AK240 seems to be the only one that comes close...if it does, the 901 will be up the FS thread.
