You seem to forgot (which is weird for someone working from FiiO to forgot) that the M6 has a microSD/TF slot, which means the storage can be expanded beyond the capacity of the 4GB (I presume 2GB for system + 2GB for internal storage?) the FiiO M6 already has. It can't be "too big" if you have the option to use a bigger TF card. It seems like you guys are just making poor excuses at this point to not add more apps in the whitelist.

Anyway, OK, I could understand why you don't want other music player apps like the HibyMusic in the M6, since it's from a competitor after all, and of course you want us to use your very own in-house FiiO Music Player app. If you're not planning to whitelist other music player apps, then at least fix the bugs/issues the FiiO Music Player has. Two of the issues that I noticed are the special characters/letters like é, ñ, Ø, etc. are displayed as corrupted Chinese characters, and when browsing in folder view, folders are not sorted alphabetically.

our X5III/X7/X7II/M11 and other open android base DAPs will supports hiby music .

James, if I recall correctly, the M11 won't have Google Services either because it will run on Android 7.0, and Google won't allow/certify Google Services in any version below 8.. Fair enough.
But is the hardware capable of running Oreo 8.0? My bet is (unlike, probably, M6) it can.. So is there a plan to eventually upgrade the "FiiO custom Android" from 7.0 to 8.0?

Thing is, while there's a LOT of free apps (and service apps, like Spotify, etc) that you can enjoy via APK, not having Google Services unfortunately will cut off the chance to use "Buy License" apps as they need to connect to Google Services.

hello Fiio,

I am posting regarding the audio skipping issue for the M6.

I can confidently assume that the audio skipping is caused by an instability in the music app. the audio skip or "glitch" happens when the player tries to play the song immediately as soon as you move to the next track. it seems like the player tries to be gapless in its playback, but stutters as a result. the issue also occurs when playing-pausing songs.

When I restart the app by exiting the app and then opening it up again, the music app plays the songs without hurrying (there is a very normal brief gap that is uninterrupted by audio, as it should be). I assume that after prolonged use, the glitch will appear again, and the player will try to hurry to play the next track that you are skipping to, resulting in the audio stuttering. I know that this is the case because sometimes songs outright skip the first second of the playback.

The app restart doesn't seem to fix the issue every single time, so it's unreliable as a fix for the time being. While typing this post, i have gone through the restart cycle a few times after every encounter with the audio glitch. Even the restart does not solve it immediately. The issue comes and goes; sometimes, the hurrying will disappear, and songs would play with a regular brief gap in between songs, and sometimes, songs would try to start instantly, causing audio stutter. Also, turning off gapless playback does not solve this issue.

There are times when songs one after another stutter because of this. All this happens using the fiio app wired.

Please, can you look up this issue? I am no software engineer, but it does seem like some sort of instability within the music app. Alternatively, it might have to do with the app cycling through various music file format, and changing from one format to the other in quick succession might cause the glitch.

@FiiO is there any plan to release a RC-BT v2 ? Perhaps with QCC3005 chip, 130mah battery and 2 Pin option ? I really love the RC-BT, they are the only ones in my collection of > 20 bluetooth cables, which have low enough noise floor that 16 ohm earphones don't hiss at all. I've even done a bit of diy on one of them to replace the mmcx connector with a 2 pin one, just so I could enjoy my 2 pin earphones on the go.

I'd be even happier if a "RC-BT Pro" comes out with BTR1K hardware, in a form factor similar to Samsung's Level U.

Yes, we are developing 2 bluetooth cable, all will added a individual DAC to improve the S/N and better audio performance.

Yes, Our engineer are working in this issues but it is a little difficult to check out the reason .

Hi FiiO,
Short question, is the new firmware for M6/M9 still on track for a release in April?
Thanks!

Hi, is there any plans to release upgraded M3K variant? Many folks really dig the idea of simple, yet musical little player with beastly battery life, no wireless, BT, Android nonsense. Everything that M3K has, but better.

I totally support this. While now I'm quite sold on the M6 and its goodies (and hope for an upgrade .. M8? with a little more beef, RAM or slightly better SoC and similar price range) the M3K and heir to the X1 line should stay around.
Maybe WiFi could be added to that line.. that would allow for NAS/DLNA/Samba playing. Cool.

In the M6/M9/M11 line While I love Android for the world of options you get, it should be a very streamlined/optimized Android version, possibly supporting Android 8 and Google Services, and full or more dynamic whitelisting (not needing a FW upgrade).

Now, M5 might be a sort of upgrade for the M3K. It's an M3K + a BTR3 (no WIFI I assume). Obviously, a smaller screen (1.5 vs 2.0 inches) but touch, plain Linux.. very interesting, specially for the superb bluetooth specifications (if it's the same as BTR3).
And a reasonable price.. between BTR3 and M6.

I don't know how successful M3K is for FiiO and what their plans for this lineup is, but I really hope M3K will receive worthy successor, without added nonsense, because we have another players for that. I am comfortable with increased pricing, I don't need voice recording, I really like form factor, even software and customisability is great. It plays huge hi-res image flacs, the best I wished it could do. All I want is better audio components, DAC, amplifying bus, preserved or even better optimized battery life and maybe balanced out as cherry on the top. This would be perfect player, end game, as for my M3K I think to add FA7 with new LC-D cable, currently FA1. Overkill, I know, but this speaks how much I like this little beast.

FiiO, let us know! :)
