Just had this realisation:

Desolation Sound is the amalgamation of the best attributes of Sunniva and Serratus.

350 + 250 (SBS) = 600 😱😱😱

And 600 divided by 14.285 is 42!

I like the idea of using wings, but I can't seem to get them AND foams on in a neat manner. Maybe I'm putting the wings on wrong. Any visual references for using both? Or perhaps I'm expecting a neater fit than can be achieved.
I cut a small opening in the foam, then put the wing on the earbud, then put the foam above it. See picture.
Easier with bell shells. See picture 2.

Listening to Poets Of The Fall - Sleep with Desolation Sound through Tempotec V6. Mike Saaresto's voice legit gave me goosebumps! Never sounded so real! @tgx78 you have created an absolute masterpiece! Utterly blissful.

Hello Fellow users,

I recently got the TGXEar Sunniva. Got it after auditioning though, but I feel my unit has a lot of mid-bass. I have burned the unit in for about 50 hours so far. My source is Sony WM1A MK2.

That's the tuning... There's a bass kit that reduces midbass by 3dB.

Keep it running. 100 hours minimum.

The matter is, he bought the Sunniva after hearing my unit. He immediately fell in love with it and that's why he ordered. I remember how I was also dissatisfied with Sunniva in the initial days, but after 100 hours it truly became outstanding, which he also loved.

Brain burn in maybe? Sunniva is a warm set, even with the foam mod

I like DS in other styles, which gives it admirable versatility and, above all, I agree with your conclusion and am already interested in Jim's next evolution, if he plans one...

Sunniva user here, the gear requires sometime to get good. Same thing happened with my Serratus, they require break-in. First listen, midbass bleed. Now it has gotten better, 1-2 steps up from my Serratus.

And another matter, the Sunnivas are sensitive. I have to tweak my sample rate and driver settings to obtain optimal performance for them. The Serratus do not need these adjustments.

I think there's a significant brain burn with Sunniva but a good music burn-in certainly wouldn't hurt. Also, don't overlook the impact of source and power. I know I always chime in saying more power is better and then end up sounding like a broken record but Sunniva is another example of this. It helps tighten the bass and improve balance. You will never completely alter the tonality on this one though. It's warm!
