It got removed.
He is not supposed to talk about how his own products sound on the forum.

I'm not crazy about that policy. I'd like to know what Jim himself claims about his products. This is especially since he doesn't post this stuff on his website. Any chance of reviewing it for this particular thread?

This isn't going to change, unfortunately. There's an air-tight division between a Member of the Trade and making posts on this forum, especially if it's concerning their own products. If you're after Jim's opinion he's contactable by his website or via Instagram.

Can't you ask him a question here and get an answer?

Is there anyone who has both or at least listened extensively on the Totem and the Ripples? I'd like to hear some comparison between the 2, to see which one is better
Currently, Totem is the best earbuds from tgx that i've come across, more so than DS.
I'm interested in the Ripples purely due to Goober's and Nymz's rating of it.
Thank you in advance

I have not heard them in a while but from my notes these are my impressions:

Ripples: balanced and natural tonality, wide stage and works with classical for my library. It is airy and very resolving with very good bass and sub-bass. Fast transients and quiet background though not as quiet as Totem.

Totem: widest soundstage of all my tgx buds. Also balanced and natural tonality. I like the treble on the Totem better than Ripples. Sweet. Totem is very holographic.

Hope this helps.

Totem is technically more capable with better separation and details retrieval. Vocals are excellent. Sub-bass is pretty good. Also, for example, Serratus in comparison has a wider soundstage than Totem which sounds more balanced and immersive. Totem is hard to drive.

Regarding Ripples, Imaging and staging are more intimate. It's mid-bass focused with fantastic dynamics. Pretty good contrast with good macro and micro details. It works really with fast paced genres.

Between the 2, which one would you say has better quantity and quality bass?
