Is a 25' 26 AWG stranded silver teflon 19 strand wire enough for a 1.5m long Grado cable? Any differences between 24AWG and 26AWG?

Thanks,

1. yes.
2. yes... 2 AWG

. but seriously, I wouldn't go smaller than 24AWG (just my opinion)

2. No impact on sound?

Any idea how much a decent neutrik 3.5 mm plug cost? Don't wanna get ripped off :p

Yes potentially, but you will receive varying opinions on this matter. I look at it this way: if the manufacturer ships the product with a 24AWG wire... there must be a reason (hopefully). I dont go smaller than what it was designed for, I dont care what the "material" of the cable is (silver, copper, etc...). Again this is purely my opinion.

(I'm still torn if the stock Grado cable is 22 or 24AWG)

Cost of a Neutrik depends where you live... here in the US they are $1-$4ea

I get mine at http://www.parts-express.com/wizards/searchResults.cfm?srchExt=CAT&srchCat=104&CFID=47586181&CFTOKEN=47911701

Whoo. Long break...anyway, I'm semi-back, with a larger audio chain lol. I'm considering a silver recable...so does anyone know of someone who's reasonable, skilled, and fairly quick to do a silver recable on my 225i?

And I can send him my headphones and he'll do the recable? Also, how do I contact him? Just comment on the page you linked?

Contact Chris Himself by PM/email. Jin and Chris are "partners" I think. Chris does the cables, Jinteddy does the headbands.

I got the headphone lounge Brown Manta headband in today, and oh man, it's absolutey beautiful! Smells fantastic! Like a new baseball mitt! The leather is also very soft and supple with ample padding, very nice! I haven't been able to set it side by side with the Iroko cups in good light yet, but it seems they will make a perfect match :D Now to find a pair of Grado's to build from, 225i's perhaps?

Thanks for great service and a beautiful product Jin!

I would love to see a photo of the brown manta and iroko pairing.  When I saw the headband on headphonelounge I too thought it would be a perfect match.

I'll see what I can do about getting them together with some good light. Unfortunately it will probably be a bit before they are built into a pair of phones. Spent a bit over $100 in the cups and band and have yet to get a pair of phones to put them on! Both were limited opportunities and I jumped while I could... In due time they will make a great custom

Well, made the jump! This is the final step in my sr225i experience. I ordered a silver recable from Chris :)...I should really update my audio chain and signature...This'll be fun :3!
