The only way you're going to hear a difference between digital cables is if one is so bad it's causing data loss. If all the ones and zeros are being read at the receiver correctly the cable makes absolutely no difference. Typically digital transmission either works 100% or it fails massively--like your HD TV--it's either crystal clear or huge digital artifacts show up on the screen. Have you ever seen an HD TV with just a few pixelations moving around the screen? I haven't.

The audio equivalent would be crystal clear sound broken up by really obnoxious noise. Don't waste your money on deluxe SPDIF cables.

The mood you are in while listening has much more impact on 'sound quality' than using 'deluxe' cables. Most people want to hear an improvement after they've spent big money on new gear. Unless truly blind A/B testing has been done I'm highly skeptical of cabling improvements.

i am not sure about my mood...But if you want to hear something better try the Morrow cable Ma1... If you have ordinary cable you will hear a difference bad mood or not....for 30 or 40 dollars

I listened to Theogenes First Watt setup in Nashville with his HE-6's and my 560's and fell in love!!!!

A couple of questions from a Noob using speaker amps and headphones. I have a Belles One Amp, that has been fully recapped coming high current, huge power supply, 125@8, 200@4) which has an SQ similar to my big Krell in my main rig. Also have a HiFiMan HE-Adapter. My questions are, how do I figure out the watts at 25, 32, and 50 ohms? Is the Adapter necessary, or can I get a wire rig directly to the HP and speaker taps. Any suggestions, thoughts, advice are welcomed!

At 25 Ohm maximum power output will be approx. 40 Watts

At 32 Ohms, approx. 31 Watts

At 50 Ohms, approx. 20 Watts.

Try wiring the headphones directly to the power amp's speaker taps and see what you think.

So with the 25 ohm resisters in place, how doesn't that change the wattage level too the HE560's? I am currently using a Lyr 2, rated at 6W@30 ohms, 4@50 ohms, most listening done at 11:00-12:00. Love loads of headroom, but don't want to fry my HP's!

Chris J., thank you, appreciate your advice!!!

Crap!

I think I misunderstood your question.

Are you asking what is power with a 25 Ohm resistor in the HiFiMan HE adaptor?

The numbers I posted are assuming there is NO adaptor and the headphones are 25 or 32 or 50 Ohms......:xf_eek:

Thanks Chris, what I am trying to figure out how many watts are going to the headphone in this setup; Amp>HE Adapter 25 ohm>HP 50 ohm/30 ohm? Hoping to provide a lots of headroom, without damaging the phones. I appreciate your help and advice!

OK.....:xf_eek:

50 Ohm headphones with a 25 Ohm adaptor works out to 8.8 Watts.

30 Ohm headphones with a 25 Ohm adaptor works out to 9.8 Watts.

Chris, fantastic, quite a bit more power than the Lyr 2, still will have to be careful, but loads of headroom. Eventually when I get a pair of HE6's, I will straight wire or switch to lower resistance. Thanks again!
