I see on their site that they also have a 2,5mm balanced 140cm cable

I'm too stupid to understand all the technicalities about what balanced cables work with what headphones, but would it be safe to buy this cable for my Z7?
Or slightly rephrased, do all cables that work with Beyerdynamic T1 (2. Gen), T5p (2. Gen) and Amiron also work with the Z7?

Dont know what i am hearing... But in balanced mode, paired with the Sony pha-3 this feels soo different. Many headphones do scale pretty well, but i have never experienced such a drastic difference ... Use them balanced, you wont regret it

They are awesome balanced! However, they are really awesome single ended with a tube, using the new Schiit Lyr 3, as well.

The Lyr 3, really makes the Z7's sing! It adds a bit more realism and depth, I did not know the Z7's were capable of. Lyr 3 also really controls and adds texture to the bass, that is really awesome too!

They are awesome on every good source. It does not matter if it is balanced or not, a well made unbalanced source is better than a not so well made balanced one. Seems that Sony amp is well made.

1 layer of damping in the cups with solid silver internal wire and silver solder with a solid silver 8 core litz cable Oyaide Rhodium and Silver connectors to the cups and a Rhodium Furutech 4.4mm stuck in that balanced socket .... Now your talking ! Also sounds good on stock once it's had a few hours to settle in.

Thanks for the offer. I'm plan to use the Z7 with the 2.5mm TRRS balanced output of the FiiO AM3A amp module on the Q5 and the X7II.
There are several sellers of after market cables with the termination I'm looking for, but I want to find an European seller. The Swedish customs have gone absolutely insane in an effort to makes Swedes stop ordering cheap stuff from China, so right now all packages from outside of the EU are being held in customs for what feels like an eternity.
I hope Beyer will give me some good news when they return from the holidays.

Some head-fier gifted me his Balanced cable for Z1R (4.4mm pentaconn) and it works great as well, these cans sound awesome on balanced

I wanted to chime in and add that the Z7 sounds just dandy out of the Magni 3. It sounds boarderline respectable out of the LG V20 but really shines with Magni.

Once it's released this summer, I'll be curious to see how opinions fall on the upcoming Cavalli Liquid Platinum. That balanced hybrid tube amp could make for a great pairing with these headphones.

The Z7's full capability is not realized playing Mozart. Try Peter Navarro-Alonso's Le Quattro Stagioni (c. 2014). The percussion elements sound incredibly vivid with the Z7.
